Asiana again? Maybe they should just give up flying widebodies!

Here's the video. One wonders why THY wasn't pulling into the gate, and why Asiana thought it could get by. I guess the A321 has a "wet" fin, since after it was sliced off, there was a spray of fluid, and quick response by the fire trucks.

Not fuel. Likely hydraulic fluid from the rudder actuators.

Blame to go around, but ultimately I think the onus is on Asiana for not realizing how wide their plane is and putting it at risk unnecessarily. Fortunately no one was injured and both aircraft seem to be reparable.

Anyone have a clue what the A321 is doing "halfway" between the taxiway and its final parking spot?

My guess is that its on its way into the gate and is waiting in that spot for a ground/guidance person to get into position (who must be out of the picture, since the guys in the frame are sitting around like all is fine).

The A330 obviously should have waited to pass (and where are the controllers are in this...). My further guess is the A330 flight crew are focused mostly on flight plans, checklists, etc and only 1 is driving at that moment, and maybe even the junior one?

That makes huge dent on the captain and 1st's flight records. Does these usually mean that it was their "last flight", any how as by stander I can't see how it would not affect the future of the pilots.
