Dansage, First of all, congratulations on your success in selling your business for at least 10MM and at 20. Well done. As far as the terms, I wouldn't worry too much about it - if you're planning to keep the car for a couple few months - I think you're just splitting hairs at this point. Get it and enjoy it. I think the more significant concerns is Montana registration (there is potential insurance liability) and the percent depreciation hit depending on how much you drive it in those few months. Let us know what you do and how it goes. Btw, was it the watch business you mentioned you sold and how did your reckless driving ticket go? Cheers
Well I ended up cutting a check for the full price today and am picking it up next week so odd form of trolling. Anyone near miller motorcars is welcome to be there when I do to confirm. Thanks! I ended up cutting a check for the full purchase price. Financing at 6% is a foolish choice considering FFS does not report to the bureau's to build my history. As for the Montana registration, it hasn't been an issue yet and I do make the entire thing legitimate by buying a storage space in a warehouse in Helena so I can legitimately claim a car will spend most of it's time in MT. As for the business and ticket, it was indeed a watch business. My first court date was moved to this Friday for the ticket, so fingers crossed! I've got a clean record so I don't imagine it'll end badly plus my lawyers agrees it was just trumped up by a pissed off cop.
I never heard of a Ferrari demo except for a Lusso. I didnt believe you could get a new untitled 488 without ordering. First time I have ever seen this. Congrats on the car.
The Stratstone dealer near me has an 812 demo, my buddy who has an 812 on order took it out the other day. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
We get a ton of trolls here Dansage, much more than any other forum I've frequent (like say a cooking forum) That explains the skepticism. I myself have been guilty a few times of calling out a legitimate query. 9 out of 10 times it is a troll, which doesn't help the situation and makes sincere posts a hard sell at times, especially from relatively new users. This being all said - buy yourself a whole fleet of cars my man, I look forward to your thoughts and discussions on various dynamics. Be well.
Glad you just cut the check, as I said earlier in my earlier post 6% is just too darn much for this kind of car I don’t care what your age is especially when you had the ability to do so. At least now when you move up to your new car you can sell this one and eat whatever depreciation is without the interest kicking you to boot. You never know you could get real lucky and off load the car pretty quick and not lose much if anything. Enjoy the car.
Completely understand the circumstantial skepticism. The tone it takes coming from a few people isn't the most inviting but I realize where it's coming from. I saw the other thread on financing and the mess it became so having mine follow so quickly after most likely didn't help my case...That being said I do genuinely appreciate the constructive comments. I suppose not all can be pleased. Indeed, I would've had an easier time stomaching the rate if it helped me build my credit history but it's completely pointless if it doesn't as lighting a fire place with cash would make a more worthwhile use of it...I figure putting 2-3k miles on it over the summer will mean I should get out relatively unscathed come time to get rid of it but I don't have a crystal ball so who knows.
Rather than having a pop at this guy, maybe some of us should be like me and wondering - what the **** was I doing wrong that meant I didn’t have a business to sell for £10mill when I was 20! Jeez man, well done, and one day, tell us how to do it please! Enjoy the 488, I don’t think you’ll lose much at all by the way
I don't care if he is real or not, I just find it odd you can get a new 488 built to spec as a demo since dealers don't get that many build slots (usually have more potential buyers than build slots). When I was your age kid I was homeless begging for food so Ferrari's were not something I thought about, would have probably traded it for a warm safe place to sleep. I have been given a slot for a 488, and if I was given 0% interest I'd finance (I can make 300k+ do a lot in a few years), but that deal I would not take I'd just pay cash.
Congrats on your success at 20! I am 30 and dd a Ferrari when the weather is nice and I get a ton of comments on my age so I can only imagine the comments you get! Enjoy the 488 ! I’m in queens so pm me if you want to meet up for a drive some day. In my opinion good choice not to finance, the rate was too high .
I believe the kid for the most part. One of my closest friends sold his company for just under $20m when he was 24. It happens. Enjoy your new car.
Hi all...it’s here. Just picked it up and already put 250 miles on it in one day. View attachment 2605450
Love the car Dan, nice colour combo.... what shade of blue is that, looks barker than TdF, maybe Pozzi or NART? Gives the car a very classy look. Congrats!
It's Pozzi. I love TdF but once it gets dirty it just seems to hard to keep clean/good looking. The usual Rosso Corsa is just way to "in your face" for me.
You can definitely pick up a 488 from a dealer new. I even test drove the one they had. Not for me, wanted the F12 instead. Obviously you passed on the deal, the rate is definitely high. I would have skipped that as well. I'm also a bit surprised at the rancor in this thread. I don't think people should be calling out others without some evidence. Take people at face value, take their questions at face value.
That’s the truth, red and yellow for the UK Just gets way too much attention, not always good with the socialist dipsticks wandering around dragging their knuckles on the ground behind them. Had a 575 in TdF, beautiful, but definitely showed every mark and dust speck. Pozzi is a very classy option, especially on a V8 as mainly I’ve seen that on V12s.
Why would you be surprised? This is Ferraichat, where you burn people at the stake first and ask questions later.
I think it's due to the disproportionate amount of trolls we get here. That said, agreed-we get folks from all sort of situations. You'll learn (like myself) if your here long enough to give people benefit of the doubt, until proven otherwise. Beautiful car dansage! Enjoy in good health!
I am confused your profile says you are 28... Back to your ur thread i think the number add up and make sense. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
