    Hello Folks,

The button we provided to Rick was the 3D printed button shown in this thread. We just sent him that do get him out of trouble until we come up with a permanent solution which we are working on. These things take time to get right so we will post the progress as things develop.

Thank you all. Rudy and Frank, you guys are on my list. Thank you.

Hi "Dave rocks", please add me to your list of folks interested in replacement buttons? I don't need one right now, but I like to keep these kind of things on hand, for future use.... Will you be doing the full set (R, P, AUTO)?

    Dave H

P.S. Orchard Park, isn't that near Buffalo, NY? I used to live in Rochester.

Hi Dave - yes - OP is South of Buffalo and I go to Rochester all the time.

We will be doing all 3 buttons. The delay right now is we are awaiting our coating manufacture to come up with a flexible formula. They told me last week they are getting ready to test it. Once that is done, we will be having buttons molded.

Best thing to do is send me an email. dave.lelonek@**********.com

Me too I need a "Reverse" & "Auto" button please!

*Im sure you guys dont need to collect pre-orders, just make a few hundreds you will sell them all for sure!
So many needed for 599s, 612s, 430s etc

I wonder who is/was the original manufacturer of these buttons for Ferrari... ?

Your Auto button shouldn't be made out of the same material as the Reverse button.

Hey Robbie - that's not always the case. In the Challenge Stradale, the R button is rubber but Auto is not. In the 599, we have seen them both be rubber.

So - we have an update on this project:

It seems that in many (possible all) cases with the 599, Ferrari has superseded the part number for the assembly with the rubber buttons with the part number for the hard buttons, which, if sticky we refinish with our hard touch coating and laser etch.

We have just procured the last 2 hard button assemblies from the factory for 2 customers - one being Rick Watkins as posted in this thread.

While the cost is certainly more than buttons, the cost was reasonable especially when you consider the hard buttons are a much better design.

The factory is expected to have more units available shortly - anyone interested, please contact me.

That said, we are aborting our efforts to make replacement rubber buttons.

These buttons are made from a silicone rubber and that by design does not provide good coating adhesion. So, the design is simply poor and our replacements would likely fail at some point also.

The better solution is to upgrade to the hard button design and we can always refinish those right away if the customer would like to get ahead of the inevitable problem of them getting sticky.

Ferrari has superseded the part number for the assembly with the rubber buttons with the part number for the hard buttons

what is the part number for this item ? Do the buttons have a separate part number?

It varies based on US or Euro cars. No, buttons are not sold separately.

Thanks for the quick reply. I am the happy owner of a Ferrari 599 and am having problems with a very sticky L.C. button. I would like to replace all the buttons on the console with the hard button design ie AUTO, R and L.C.

I live in Malaysia where it is hot and humid. Is it possible for me to fit the buttons myself if I order them from you?

Regarding the Alfa buttons - 2 questions:

    1) Are you 100% certain they are the same used on the 599 and if so, a part number would be great

    2) Are they rubber or hard plastic?

If hard plastic, we can refinish and even change the graphics if needed.

Robbie - I agree. After this post I looked at some photos on the net and they appear different.

Is the button the same on a 430? Need one if so.

    Thanks!

    Any updates on this issue?

Did anyone succeed in finding a replacement for the 599 reverse button with a reasonable cost?

    Regards.

We've been working off and on to develop a solution. This is a rather complex project and we are making advancements. Much engineering development has been advancing for months. I have some prototype parts on my desk as I write this.

Early 430 and 599 buttons are made from silicone rubber and deteriorate and disintegrate over time. Later switches are hard plastic and don't have this issue.
