RHS rear upright, shear plate. If that fastener had let go in turn 1 at SMSP, I'd be skipping across the grass at 300kmh Sent from my SM-G950F using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Jeepers! Probably a stupid question, but do you have to order certain part numbers when it comes down to nuts and bolts on a race car (like an aircraft, I guess) or can you go down to Bunnings and as long as the measurements are the same, you’re good to go?
Definitely not Bunnings, all the nuts and bolts are in fact aircraft AN spec, I order them from the US. Some bolts are custom designed and I have new ones made by an engineering shop, it's not difficult, just expensive

Yes Pat Bristol......It's a 1959 Cooper Bristol that my grandfather Eric Glasby raced formula 1 in the 60s with......I think he did the SA Grand Prix at Kylami in 61 but would have to check....
Just reading about John Surtees BMW 507 coming up for auction soon. BMW had lost the rights to their 6 Cyl 328 engine to Bristol in 1945 (war reparations) so had to design a new engine for the 507, hence the beautiful aluminium V8. https://www.hemmings.com/blog/2018/03/30/a-bmw-507-fit-for-a-multi-sport-world-champion/
Have to feel sorry for the organisers of the upcoming trackday/ Supersprint at Sandown. 75dba noise limit. WTF my ride on mower is rated at 80. My leaf blower is 106 my Victa would be ok it's 75.
So still a fair distance from your mouth. [emoji6] To be kind to you, I just left it at "mouth." [emoji4]
Anyone have experience with Octopus Grip Race Tyre Softener or know of it? http://www.octopusgrip.com/
There's a reason tyre softeners are banned and it's not cheating. It aggressively breaks down the rubber compound in an inconsistent way. If your tyres have hardened with age, buy new ones. It's cheaper than hitting the armco.
