I had a hard time answering your question.

I daily drive a manual transmission SUV. Is that a car?

I have a manual truck, a manual Jeep, and a manual porsche Cayenne. None of those are cars... haha.

I've owned two automatic cars in my life. One I sold after a month (C63 Mercedes) and the other I converted to manual after six months (BMW 5 series). I don't plan to try again.

I thought I replied to this thread (I know I voted) - I never owned an automatic until 2006, when I purchased an off-lease Lexus GS400. It had push-button shifting on the steering wheel, but was a true automatic. I even took my driver's license test on a stick shift, I love them that much (as others have said, even in stop / go traffic).

After I sold my Lexus, I purchased a used 2013 Kia Rio, also automatic. I would have otherwise sought out a manual car, but my Ferrari 308 and Jag E-Type are both manual, so I still get to experience rowing through the gears when I want.

Harder to find a new car in manual these days it seems.

My collection is an even mix of manual and auto. Prefer a manual for the driving experience. However I have a 66 Chevy truck with a 4 speed, and I plan to convert it to automatic as it kills my left leg in the driving events it participates in...
