Looks like all FF's are potentially subject to airbag recall. There is a VIN link which I followed and which said my FF was not subject to the recall. But FYI.

Virtually all cars are affected, just for saving a few bucks per car. It might actually make more sense and easier to simply list cars that are not affected.

My dealer just gave me a call after I contacted them. Recall in Europe was canceled by Ferrari due to unavailability of airbags with the updated design. Availability of new airbags is unknown, my 458 Speciale will have to wait .

Bringing this thread back. Received notice from FNA that my F12 passenger side airbag needs to be replaced. WTF? Has anyone had this done on their car and what is involved? I'm thinking I might pass as I can't imagine how this procedure is performed without complete dashboard removal. If anyone is knowledgeable on the process or had it done here or if there are any Ferrari service technicians familiar with the passenger airbag replacement please post. Much appreciated.

Strange amount of lack of reading in this thread. Yes, a ‘17 F12? ‘15 SpecialeAperta, ‘14 458 Italia, and the ‘17 TDF are all on the recall list. Not sure where users are getting the idea that those cars are not on the list.

The recall is not being sent out yet since they are doing a rolling recall due to inability to produce so many airbags at once from the factory. They are starting off with other brands before moving to Ferrari.

In regards to performing the recall, yes, you bet I’ll be doing it. This is a safety issue! Do not be concerned about opening up the dash. The panels pop or screw off easily and are then popped back on.

Update to the recall I received from FNA. Discussed with dealer and he said FNA sent out the recall to everyone affected instead of by phased area. There are no F12 airbags available in Northeast or Middle Atlantic at this time. They are doing 2010/2011 458s and other earlier cars now but not the 2013+ F12s. I asked about complexity of removal and he, of course, assured me that you will not be able to tell it had been done. No rattles or loose panels. Not sure I believe that as there are no obvious airbag panels on the dash. Also, my F12 VIN number is not recognized by the NHTSA site so couldn't double check. What's up with that? I called the FNA rep listed on the NHTSA site over several days and they did not call back. I did setup the annual with the dealer and added another year of warrantee though. Just trying to help Sergio reach his profit goals don't you know.

I also have two other non-Ferrari new cars (three months old) needing airbags and two needing fuel connection inspection/recalls. This blows. Would be interesting if other F12 owners in this area have got their 2013 or later F12s done already or have conflicting information about the rollout. Would also like to know what's involved with the repair as I'm sure others are asking. You know, I never sit in the passenger seat.....

My 2014 FF also was not recognized by NHTSA website. I have not received any communication from FNA.

So only the passenger (not driver or side) airbags for recent Ferrari cars are affected? Sounds like the front passenger will need to wear ballistic gears and body armour.

I got it. Goes in Tuesday for the recall and scheduled service. SM says not a big deal. No choice really. Safety item and not a small one.

I emailed them and was informed my car is affected, and confirmed with my closest dealership. Not really sure if all owners of affected cars will receive notices at the same time. Anyway, appointment scheduled to get it taken care of. I was told by SA that the dash will not be taken apart: the glovebox will be dropped and removed and the airbag will be replaced from underneath after removing some additional panels and items.
