we'll see how espn news does tonight

 

They don't list replay times. ESPN 2 has a replay for this weekend's race at 10am central this Sunday listed by me.

 

They've already boned it up by pushing back practice an hour. Ugh.

 

Yup. And so it begins. Don’t they realize people DVR this stuff?

 

And changing the channel. F1 cannot help but suck hind tit on ESPN this year. It's purely a defensive move by Liberty and a money play by ESPN....no different that selling hour long infomercials in the middle of the night.

 

Did ESPN get their announcers from South American Soccer?

This is terrible. What are they talking about? See what qualifying is like... next up if it recorded.

 

Yeah! Great way to kick off their carriage debut! Why a publish schedule if they're just going to juggle it around to air when its convenient for them? And I can barely understand what they're saying too.

 

I agree. I turned it off after 15 minutes.

So I just wrapped up qualifying. And everyone wanted to give Diffey **** for sounding "excited" about stuff, this guy was going nuts with 5 minutes left!

I normally prefer British announcers but I don't get why these guys have always been hyped up? They do need to increase the audio a little and maybe they'd be easier to understand.

 

Based on fp3 coverage I skipped qualifying. I might even skip the race. I've been a critic of Diffey, but that doesn't mean the others don't suck too.

I use DirecTv and both the audio and video feeds seemed soft to me. I had a feeling dumping (and that's exactly what Liberty did) the season to ESPN would be a disaster, and nothing I've seen or heard encourages me to change my mind.

 

I'm really missing Hobbs, Matchett, and Buxton now!

 

Buxtons there but he only appeared at the end that I saw.

 

Buxton...so annoying. Much better on a second rate channel (ESPN) commensurate with the second rate racing entertainment that is F1 now.

 

Pre-race show started with pictures of the track and no sound at all. Two commercial breaks and then switched to other programming. Not impressed with what we are going to have to put up with this year.

 

ABC/ESPN SUCKS!!!...They F'ed up "On the grid." No sound but that may be better than the commentary.
I'll be honest....I watched qualifying on Univision...and I don't speak Spanish

 

Yep... I turned on the DVR and there was no audio until 20 minutes into the program, and then Damon Hill was making a nut adjustment.

 

Horrific transitioning from race to commercials. Often, the commentator is 2 words into a sentence, and then it just cuts to a commercial. Absolutely terrible. Also, I like to hear commentary from the drivers after the race, and not just the podium finishers.

Oh, and nice way to cut Kimi off, Mark Webber, in the podium finishers interviews. Very unprofessional.

 

I watched through the ESPN app, and was really was not impressed, but the worst thing was: Sunday morning I go to the app to start the race, and right there on the link to start the race it showed an image of the podium and gave away the results of the race. poor job ESPN
