For the record, I think Joe Pesci is the funny one.

FWIW, you've gotten a couple serious answers already - $1Mil is not that much money for banks to lend - heck, it's an average home or condo loan in many metro areas. Is the loan for something that can be properly collateralized and can you demonstrate that you have sufficient income to pay it back? If so, then a regular ol' bank would be the place to start. Have you even talked to one yet? I assume you have a bank... unless you keep all your margin money in a shoebox somewhere.

I was even thinking something like an Acquisition line of credit submitted to a Finance Company familiar with the asset being sought, i.e. Real Estate. Might have to do it with an LLC vs. Personal use if credit usage is minimal. You'd think that the bank would already have been approached. Usually I don't submit second responses when OP sounds like your standard ****** with no sense of humor who thinks he's more important than he really is.. but might be useful for someone in the future.

Definitely a strange one. As DesertDawg said, 1MM is peanuts in today's world. A bank or what you described is as dead serious of a reply as you can get. I am very interested what the usage of the 1MM is planned for, and hope "toshiba" tells us what he has planned for the funds.

    let me understand .....

you are on here basically anonymously using the pseudonym 'santa', asking us on a car chat site where to get a $1 mil loan, and on top of that you are asking the question in the ferrari discussion section? not even in the business section?? and you then expect a serious answer?

    really?

I have an Autistic kid as well- diagnosed at age 3 and he's 20 now. Well kid might not be the right word since he's 6'2" and 235 lbs. He takes a lot of special care and extra effort. Still, if I just came out and asked where to obtain a million dollar loan with no other details, I might expect to be ridiculed a bit. If your credit score and income level supports it, perhaps try a place such as Lightstream.com. If it's for a classic/collector car there are also a number of specialized outfits for those- Woodside Credit, JJ Best Banc, etc. Not sure if any of them support up to a million dollar loan. It's one of those things where if you're wealthy and don't need a million bucks, you could probably obtain the loan very easily. If you truly need the million, then not so much.

A sense of humor helps. And some tougher skin.

What do you want it for?

I have a million dollar line of credit with my bank that I never have touched.

Telling other users to STFU can lead to being involuntarily shut up yourself. Fair warning.

If you can’t handle skepticism, reconsider posting at all. Poorly thought out questions and a presumption of entitlement usually ends up badly on most sites and especially here.

If you’re using margin, the reason there’s “no paperwork” is because you’re not holding the collateral, the lender is and they have the right to sell you out if you fail to meet their requirements and make themselves whole and leave you with all the losses.

Try again, with more clarity and thought.

If you have always paid with cash you are going to have a problem obtaining a loan that size. Lenders want to see a track record of borrowing and on time repayment. One way around that will be to provide them with audited tax returns which would show your ability to repay the loan.

I just called Guido, and he said I could have 50 bucks, but I'd have to leave my sister as collateral with him.

How he ever knew I have a sister named "Ascollateral", is beyond me.

are you saying that you don't have a credit score because you paid EVERYTHING in cash? Can't you use some of that cash to pay for whatever project you are working on now? (not sarcasm)

two things about your post above:
    1. You stated your time valuable. Pretty much everyone's time is also valuable (to themselves). Your time is no more valuable than anyone else's.
    2. This is Ferrarichat. the "club" of folks paying cash isn't going to impress a whole lot of people here. People here paid $100,000+ for a toy, sometimes several toys.
