Very nice! I’m not a fan of the later-style oil sump plate without the drain plug. I think that Porsche went this route in the late-1980s for environmental reasons but IMO it’s a PITA to remove the entire sump plate for every do-it-yourself oil change. I believe the gas tank decal was 1976+ and not on the 1975 Turbos.
Hmm. Carrera Turbo, no fade on any of the trim, seems highly restored. Always getting puzzled when at a 6 digit sales figure the model description is bolted on the wrong way...
Arrived today, incredible read! Ryan, book is a master piece, my wife thinks I gone off the deep end Image Unavailable, Please Login
Wow - adjusting my clutch when FedEx arrived - thanks Ryan!!! Mind-boggling!!! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Just received my copy #148 ... AMAZING! Well done Ryan! I am really happy that you have been able to complete such a masterpiece on this very significant model for Porsche history. I am also a little proud about my small contribution, thanks for giving credit. Hope it will be a huge commercial success as it well deserves.
Yes it makes one wonder what else is not correct. I would think anyone would get the badging correct when charging that kind of money?
Another photo of S-CK 1493 featured in Auto Motor Sport. Appears to have be taken with a different camera at the same time as the rear flying Turbo photo. Image Unavailable, Please Login

I had a chance to exercise the ponies this week as we had sunny skies and 60 degree weather in California.
Wow. Looks like everyone was asleep on this one. I wasn’t there to see the car but unless I’m missing something, someone got a screaming deal.
Here a few updates on my number 148. Nice to see in Ryan's book that it was the only one in this color for 1975 ... one of one ... In the entire 930 3.0 production over 1975-77 only two other cars were painted in this Tombac Metallic 442 Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
That's exactly what the problem is with no reserve sales that some auction houses are promoting. (Even worse for the poor vendor if the figure includes buyers premium).
Unexpected it would be overlooked, if everything checked out, considering some of the other Porsche's in the sale.
Very nice...and with black California plates. https://oppositelock.kinja.com/went-to-the-petersen-with-some-socal-oppos-1823737552 Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Turbo 3.0 is truly a landmark Porsche book and will set the standard for years to come. I’ve had Ryan Snodgrass’s new Turbo 3.0 book for a couple of weeks and I’m still not even half way through the material - simply incredible! I confess that I previewed some of the chapters in advance during draft reviews but when it arrived, I was astounded just how much material I had not seen before and how well it is organized. Chapters begin with awe-inspiring glossy photo prints that hint at the mind boggling material inside. This is no ordinary book with chapters that include part and publication reference numbers that will have 3 liter Turbo owners (or potential future buyers) pulling it off the shelf as “the” ultimate reference source in months and years to come. The exhaustive production record section includes details of every 3-liter Turbo ever made. As an example, if you wonder (like I did) just how many 3-liter Turbos had light red interiors, you can find it here…just do the research yourself with the production record section and then go for a deep dive in the interior section with never before seen details of the leather color and fabrics. For those who wisely purchase the Publisher’s edition, the Turbo 3.0 card/thumb drive and special book supplement by itself is worth the price of admission; but of course, like everything else about this book, there is so much more!
