Interesting thread, are they all this poorly constructed or is this just an anomaly? The timing chains look very flimsy, they wouldn’t be out of place on a Schwinn....
not really. these threads feature the work done for all the world to see. why not give price? would make it more interesting. lets guess - I say $50k. also wonder what car cost to buy used. $100k?
Agree, it would be an interesting data point for someone considering a used, (ahem) pre-owned RR purchase

haha i guessed it on the head at $50k!!! now would love to know what the car was worth used before repairs. i say $100k
epic amount of work. Makes me wonder how many of these old girls are running around (or sitting) awaiting a $50k service....
quick ebay search....yep, you can get one for around $100k. And a drophead for $50k more. I remember when they started selling the dropheads in 04/05...they were in the $400k+ range.
Fascinating thread. Keep 'em coming. It doesn't look like the owner ever maintained the car, by the way. Shame.
Yeah & ya got to wonder if those $100k ones on ebay need $50k in work? I love these posts & pics by Bradan, good job!
Dan I appreciate you posting the details you do. From my perspective, it is a testament to the work you do and I am sure this is how you intended. On the flip side, a $400k car with $300k depreciation and a $50k servicing bill after 18000 miles/14 years is (to me) just awful. That's close to $20/mile, right? One heck of a price for "exclusivity" (AKA massaging the ego). Shame on RR. Philip
Thanks guys I just fix them and dont really get involved in values etc. I think we all know by now the parts and labor cost doesn't depreciate with the cost of the car. How many 308 owners put there cars value into repairs? The car was owned by an athlete who had it repossessed with massive disgusting rims and a sound system... its not typical to find it in this condition. More are well maintained even with higher miles.
