Years back I was looking for a "toy" car. My short list was pretty much down to a Pantera, a 308, or a Cobra replica. At that time the Cobra was probably the most expensive of the three. 308 and Pantera could both be had fairly reasonably. I ended up with a 308 on what was basically an impulse eBay buy. Don't regret it a minute, but the Pantera's still appeal so much to me.

Yours is a beautiful car!!! GLWS

Car in OZ is cheaper as their dollar is worth less than USD. Can not comment on condition.

The Aussie car is around 76k US with the exchange. It can be in good condition but the exterior of this car for me is a total mess. Lots of body mods that need to be addressed to be worth what the blue one for sale here is worth.

The one for sale here is a nice car I'd like to own but the Aussie one is nowhere near a collector car IMHO.

Again just a matter of personnal taste!

+1 Agreed. Many like the chrome bumperettes as a sort of "signature" DeTomaso look. I prefer the sleeker style of the "L" models. And, the "L" cars were generally better made and have fewer issues.

The OP car appears to be in original condition and thus in a different category than the example above. Recent market for original "L" models is over $1ooK, with similar examples at auction going for $137K (RM Sotheby's NYC Dec 17) and $202K (RM Monterey 17). Collectors seem to be seeking good original examples now - and the inventory is definitely a small subset of the remaining cars available.

This one looks like it fits in the same category and thus may be well priced for potential buyers. I do like the blue color and believe it is somewhat rare for these cars - but may not appeal to every taste. Could be a plus or minus. Would be interesting to see pictures of the engine bay to see if it is similarly unmodified.

Plenty of modified or project cars cars available in the US for $60-80K. And some with expensive/exotic mods for even more.

Two different markets for these cars. I think both are trending up, but the smaller "original" category shows the most movement....

No sunshine,I only put it up to show the difference between the earlier and the next styling, nothing to do with the respective deal being offered.

I agree. I’ve had both models.

Very hard to find nice, original cars. It took me quite awhile to find a nice, well preserved Pantera in original condition. Most Panteras that I came across had either been repainted, modified or were in pretty rough shape.

I’ll try to get some pictures of the engine posted to the listing this afternoon.

Music City (Nashville, TN) I’ve owned the car nearly three years. Selling 8-9 of my cars. New baby in the house and just don’t have time to drive them.

Looks great, but yeah was wondering if the engine was really dirty and you didn't want to show it :)
