just read cover story on nfgt from c&d. they took one to vir and did a lightning lap in it. set the record beating 918 spyder. only had one day with it instead of usual 3 days so they felt it had another few seconds to shave off lap time. thats incredible. bravo ford and right in time for the olympics. usa, usa, usa. lol
read full article now and its a good one. was only a .1 sec faster than the Porsche and .4 sec faster than the amg gtr. so it will need to have more potential since its so close to hardly exotic amg. criticisms are that it doesn't sound so great and its not very comfortable despite what they say is a decent ride quality. supposedly makes speciale and 670lt feel plush. overall, if I was a member of a country club race track, this would be a great but expensive choice to keep at the track for arrive and drives. but if I was getting an exotic to drive around town and commute back and fourth to hpde, this would not be my choice even if I could afford it.
Yes I read that as well. But then that means the million dollar 918 monster from Porsche is only .3 faster than the amg. Or I can believe them when they say they usually spend 2 to 3 days with a car and believe they could have found at least 2 more seconds. Did you see this with only 2 laps one of them being a warm up? http://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/a15884757/ford-gt-lap-record-vir-viper-acr/ As for it being plush, yeah, it's not.
I put 250+ miles on it yesterday. Trying to get past the break-in period/1st oil change to really push it. I can tell you thus far it is an absolutely amazing machine and is better than I imagined....and I was expecting a lot!
As far as I understand it no, ford does not have the permission to use the gulf color option.......this is why some customers are buying the solid blue color and wrapping them to mimic the gulf colors,
Not positive but I think Ford is releasing Heritage pain schemes as per that years 50's anniversary Le Mans win. Black #2 first year, Red #1 second and the Gulf Livery in years 3 and 4.
The VIR lap time plot thickens.... http://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/a15947346/2019-chevrolet-corvette-zr1-vir-lap-record/
As many have said whether you like/own the new Ford GT or ANY other car, Tomorrow will be the next latest and greatest. The McLaren 720s came from no where and turned the entire segment upside down . Now the New corvette for ITS PRICE will probably be even better, if possible. Its a crazy time for this modern horsepower war. The Ford GT is locked into the past because of their build decisions. If the Ford GT had a V8 , It would have been a different fight, sadly, because of their decision, they are going to fall farther behind. The NEW MISSION E PORSCHE is coming, you wont believe the numbers on a battery charge! Its all about change, again IMHO , my next car will be a Dawn in royal blue......its moving way to fast.
