THATS ONLY WHEN HE'S TRYING TO PEDDLE FAKE LUGGAGE IN THE CLASSIFIEDS, KIE!

Apparently, when he's trying to pass off a standard 999R as a $20k bike (HA!) it's a whole other story.

Hi Motob--- yup I still own that bike-- I installed the correct 955 motor and carbon rotors. I still have a few touch ups to finish but currently have been trying to finish my '89 Factory Works Corse and the Ferraci '91 AMA bike. The ' 93 really needs new bodywork since the original bodywork which Hazen messed up in his crash was repaired very poorly. I have a new factory set unpainted on the shelf- so one of these days.

I've got a guy here in San Diego that may be willing to part with his ‘01 996R. Any interest?

I definitely will. Don't hold your breath, though. I thought that I had a deal at hand twice now and I've been let down each time. Let's see if this one pans out. I sent a PM to Bthesixthree.

Can we chitty chat about other uber machines during this brief intermission? Holy hell check out the results of this crappy old Honda from Bonhams Vegas earlier today. I’m assuming sherpa already has one of these.

In all seriousness any RC30 is an exquisite, sublime machine. Every detail absolutely perfect with “hand built” qualities that put any other bike (looking at you Ducati) ever built to shame.

This year's sale was okay. I am really sad that I missed it last year and the year before.

Something else worth adding: those 90's bikes were really something. that was the first time the manufacturers were trying to get real racing bikes onto the street and it's really something to ride them. Unlike now, you could really ride the bikes. That RC30, the Kawasaki ZX-7R, and my 888 SPO LTD are really amazing things to ride and you can feel everything the manufacturers were trying to do. I love bikes of that era.

Ryan, too funny. I literally just sent you a text about this Bonham's RC30. I've been watching prices for homologation sport bikes and they are clearly on the rise but wow! I have to think this bodes well for your SPS and 888 as well as the 999R and 1098R

Ryan, would you like an Italian 996R or 998R? If you tell me the budget you have I can try to find one, as I know several Ducati workers and enthusiasts here: I don't live far from the factory.

    Ciao

Hi Alberto. That is a possibility but I cannot say for sure because importing could be an issue. The bikes are not 25 years old so I would have to import as a race bike and that has certain complications. I will be there this spring for work so let's stay in touch. If I haven't found a high quality bike in the US by then, let's have the discussion. I would be good to see you regardless.

Thanks, Ryan. It will be a pleasure to meet you, so let's stayin touch. Finding those rare Ducati is not easy also here! In any case call me at my WhatsApp number when you will be here and if possible I would like to meet a foreign enthusiast.

    Ciao

Thanks for all of the help, everyone. I managed to find both a 996R and a 998R that fit my needs. I wasn't planning on doing both but if that isn't how life goes sometimes. :)

    Thank you all again.
