Have seen the car live, it looks perfect, still, have the stock carpet in that are just restored very nice, car had

just 90,000 km before restore so it is still all stock parts like the fenders and the fenders 1975 was special just weld on flares and the car weight is 1138 kg, the 76 Turbo was + 100 kg,

The prices is 450,000.- Euro. Car standing in Vienna at Dr. Konradsheim and comes with a big file of documents and a printed restore handbook that looks truly amazing and what I have seen all details are correct.

I am always curious about the claims that a 75 is 100 Kg lighter than a 76. That is a huge difference in weight, anyone know if it is really true. The difference between a 3.0 and 3.3 is only 40 kg and there are many differences between cars that can account for that weight difference.

There are apparent weight differences among the ’75 and ‘76/77 models such as the lack of galvanizing on ‘75s ~20 lbs, 930/50 engine 7 lbs lighter, ’75 single manual mirror, sound deadening, and different interior component (panels, etc.).

For the 1975 model year, perhaps Porsche did not include the optional air conditioner and bumper shocks for the DIN 70 020 weight. Starting in the 1976 model year, Porsche’s specification sheets listed the same weights for RoW and U.S. Turbo Carreras (even though there were differences; exhaust, door support bars, etc.), so perhaps they included the standard U.S. Turbo Carrera air conditioner and bumper shocks in the DIN 70 020 weight for both U.S. and RoW. This would account for at least ~60 lbs of weight difference among the 1975 and 1976/1977 model years.

One item that looks interesting on this car, and I am not absolutely trying to play it down as Dr. K. is an authority, is the "turbo" script on the back of the rear sit.
I believe the early 3.0 did not have it.
This is number 219, towards the end of the very short production for MY75, and mine is number 148 about in the middle and does not have it.

Maybe Ryan has found out when it was introduced.

In a way, I am glad about the asking price ... once I will have finished mine, the cost will not be very far off ....

About my car, it will be presented by the Ticino Swiss Porsche center in a dedicated Classic Evening, here is the link to the invitation (sorry only in Italian):

Interesting point about the "turbo" script - I have often wondered about it. My 75 car (UK spec) is c/no: 225, so very close to this one and mine does not have it (and never has).
I have always been aware of a weight difference on the 75 cars but never seen it quantified by breakdown of individual components.

It will be interesting to see if Ryan's book enlightens us on these points - I'm eagerly awaiting my copy.

    Chris.

I can't wait either for everyone to read the book....but why wait for this? ;) Yes, no "turbo" script in 1975.

By 1976 Turbo 930 670 0025 the "turbo" script was in place, I don't have photos of any earlier Turbos in 1976 to see if it was introduced with 0011, but presumably when they updated the rest of the interior for 1976 this was added.

'76 Turbo Carrera 0011 has the Turbo script as it appeared in the Nov '75 Panorama magazine. Love the tach and speedo positions in the photos. :)

Production completion was 1st May 1975. Date of registration 16th May 1975. Sold by Swinford Motors UK to my late father.

See posting no 7125 for details and photos of the car. Thanks Ryan for informing us on the "turbo" script! Will the "bible" have details of the weight differences between 75 and 76 cars, I wonder?

I suppose the question was for me ...

Mine should have been produced in the last 10 days of April.
    #148

But it was invoiced to AMAG (Swiss importer) only in June and road registered very late in September.

Also, as a data point, the last car with known original interior that I know of, 930 570 0271 (only three more cars after this), has no "turbo" script on the rear seat. And Richard confirmed 930 680 0011 does have the "turbo" script on the rear seat, so we can conclude it was a 1976 model year introduction.

Hi everyone, I am extremely happy to inform that I am the new owner of 930 570 0150. I needs a lot of work but it will not be my first restoration (I’ve done two 3.3 930’s and an early 1965 911 before) so hopefully with everyone’s help here I can do a good job. Here are some photos and I must say I’m looking forward to get stuck in it. Cheers, Rod

    Congratulation Rod, great buy.

It is only two numbers after mine.

You are in for a lot of hard work, but will come out very nice for sure.

I am really glad to see another one of this early and storically significant turbos saved from neglect.

Was already in the registry and has a very nice original specification.

Thanks! The car has been in Johannesburg, South Africa for the last 20 or so years and the previous owner had it for about 8 years and his friend before that for about 10. Both guys modified the exterior and interior but engine runs well and it’s all there which was a big thing.

Thank you! Looking forward to the challenge. Love the color combo. Any good photos of the exterior and interior that anyone might have that I could use as reference would be much appreciated. I wonder how it got to the Registry? Anybody has any devious info on the car?
