I got this message today in the Speciale.
It seems to be running perfectly.
The message persisted despite turning on/off and running car 3 times (so code not clearing).

    Anyone have experience with this?
    Thx!

Put a little OBD II sensor/scanner in the socket of your car (above lhs knee), run search and then DELETE the reported code(s) :)

If it comes back, then call dealer. But first check you can do that yourself.

    It's just a car.

I bought an OBD II sensor (Bluetooth to Phone) on AliExpress for $ 15 and check my Mercedes Sportcoupe and 458 Italia with it.

Works easy and perfectly ! You only have to find your way in the software but that should not b too difficult ...

Ask someone in your neighbourhood and test this way. :D

I had the same message come up on my screen once. It showed for a day and then the message went away. I bought a scanner similar to the one listed above. When I ran the scan, it showed that there had been a fault detected with one of the oxygen sensors. I gave the car a good Italian tune-up (aka spirited drive) and never got the same message again.

My friend read it with an OBDII and the code was P1306.
I am bringing the car to the dealer tomorrow for them to look at.
They said they have encountered this before and may be a loose connection to an emission sensor, 5 min fix possibly.
    I'll let you know.

These cars with ECU, fuel injection, etc shouldn't ever need an "Italian tune up."

    Agreed, rediculous ...

I found one more possible fault: P1306 Kickdown Relay Pull – In Circuit Fault

Electronics is great: allows for extra safety, extra power, extra fun, extra entertainment. Sadly, complicated and delicated as they are by definition, lots of movement, heat, condensation, moist and water are enemies of sensors, circuit boards, etc. That's valid for every car nowadays, not just italian cars or Ferrari. I bet everyone here could put forward a personal horror movie experience with german or japanese cars similar to the ones we discuss regarding our Ferraris.

    Kind regards,

    Nuno.

Got it fixed today, took 5 minutes. Some wire to an emissions sensor came loose.

    Yep!
I was told it was some little doodad attached to the thingamagingy. I asked if I could do this repair myself and he said, "Kids...don't try this at home. You may end breaking the whatchamacallit, and then you'd be in deep doodoo."
    :)

I’m gonna bet my money that Joe B. fixed it singlehandedly. :)
