Relisting for my dad - beautiful black/black 1993 Porsche 928 GTS auto.
This is one of 406 928 GTSs brought to North America between the 1993 and 1995 model years, and certainly one of the best maintained. PCA and 928 Owner's Club-member owned and maintained by a well-known local Porsche 928 specialist. I have had five 928s including three GTSs and this is one of the nicest I've ever seen or driven. The car is ready to go and needs nothing other than tires since I assume the next owner will want to install a tire of their preference. I have a set of relatively new Bridgestone Potenzas on another GTS that I can have installed if the buyer would like.

The car is completely stock except for a rear muffler bypass, a PK Tensioner, and a "Constantine Clamp" flex plate clamp - designed to prevent thrust bearing failure. Everything on the car works with the exception of the original CD Changer not connecting to the CR-1 head unit. The head unit and changer are otherwise both functional.

Some of the more notable maintenance items over the past 2 years are below. I would be happy to provide a longer list:

Timing belt and water pump changed in June of 2015. The car has a PK Tensioner installed.
A/C system evacuated and recharged in June of 2015.
New battery installed - Porsche battery - January 2016
Left tie rod end replaced - May 2016
Front end alignment - June 2016
New ABS hydraulic unit installed - July 2016
    PSD fluid flush/refill - November 2016
Cooling system pressure tested - November 2016
Brake fluid flush using Pentosin ATE Type 200 - November 2016

The front section (fenders, hood, front bumper cover) was repainted in the summer of 2016 by a Porsche Certified Body Shop (one of only two in North Carolina) at a cost of over $8,000. The reason for the paintwork is that a mechanic accidentally hit a tool cabinet while pulling the car into a service bay for a state inspection, and the front bumper cover and hood were scratched. I decided to go ahead and get the undamaged front fenders repainted as well. The paint matches perfectly and looks fantastic. I have receipts for all of the work and pictures of the damage that I would be happy to provide.

Please feel free to send me a message if you would like to set up a time to see and inspect the car, or if you have any further questions that aren't addressed in the ad.

Option Codes - Taken from the 928 Registry. Note a unique item for 928 GTSs - M596 Spoiler Painted Matte Black. Very few GTSs came with this option.

It is really quite the opposite, as this was their most expensive model when it was new.

I have been on the hunt for one. This is a very nice example. Just wish it was a manual.

Yes, it seems that demand for the manuals has spiked a bit lately, but don’t dismiss the auto. With other cars to suit my itch to drive manual, and having driven a 5 speed 928, I’ve always thought the 928 was best suited with the auto. I’m also just not a fan of the dogleg shift pattern. Best of luck with your search.

The auto is a very reliable unit that was supplied by Mercedes. The only issue that I'm aware of is the potential for thrust bearing failure. This car has a Constantine flex plate clamp which is designed to prevent drive shaft pull that eventually leads to thrust bearing failure.

This is such a beautiful car. I remember when they first made their scene at the Porsche dealerships. It was my dream to own one. Your car is an excellent example. If I had room I would own it. GLWS.

I have always loved the 928 GTS, wish my garage and wallet had room for one.
When I bought my 328 in 97’ this was my second choice.

Good luck with your sale and please let us know how your experience with Bring a Trailer is. I'm considering listing one of my cars with them and I'm interested to know what it's like to work with them.

Also, I absolutely LOVE your car. I'd really love to get a 928 at some point. I know not every Porsche fan appreciates them, but I think they a great cars and super unique looking.

Admittedly I just used my iPhone for the pics. I live about 3 hours from where the car is stored, so didn’t have an opportunity to go and take new pics for the auction so I used a set I had taken about two months ago.

They have a series of online “forms” that I used to submit all the information they asked for. I provided a brief description of the car and its history, and they constructed the write up. I had to provide the CarFax myself, so the overall cost is about $140 after buying the CarFax.

Congrats, looks like it sold for even more than what you were asking for it on Bring a Trailer.
