I know, I shouldn't act so surprised... but I had hoped they had gotten it together a little better.

I think the whole Land Rover service problem is a bit overstated. I have had a few and my 06 Range Rover had very few issues, and now have a 2016 Range Rover sport Autobiography (has every option possible), now. It is in the shop for a dash rattle (which I can only here with my hearing aids in and others cant). I do agree my the post above I am not impressed with the way it looks at least on the outside, I saw one when I dropped of my car.

When I picked up my RR I took another look, and I changed my mind it is actually a pretty nice looking car and the inside (I think this one was one of the limited ones) is really nice.

Going to test drive one today for the wife. Sticking with the P250 for her. That should be sufficient. Hopefully enough room for her day to day routine with 2 kids. We have my Raptor for most bigger family outings. I’ll report back. Also looking at the Discovery

I agree. In pics it looks pretty good. I saw a few in person and they look like a stretched and slightly higher wagon. Just looks a bit off.

So do I....wife liked the Velar though. It’s her car so that’s what we ordered. Technology is pretty cool and the V6 drove nice. Turbo 4 is terrible.....I agree it’s a big wagon but in person I do like the looks. We’ll see....

I took a look at one yesterday. I think I also prefer the sport still as I don't like all the technology in the Velar. It does look very modern and smooth if that is you thing. At my dealer with the way they are specced a Sport or Velar are pretty much the same price.

I agree. I prefer the dials on the Sport where the lower Velar screen is. I also prefer the seating position in the Sport.....and same experience as you. Roughly the same price.

Went to the dealer for a look at the Velar. Still impressed with the look and the interior execution. Kinda pricey.

I'm looking for a P250S to replace an Evoque coming off lease. Not easy to find a blue one in the sea of blacks and whites....

Ok, so I picked my Velar up on Saturday. Delivery was well done but I have to say that this car is not for technophobes. Initially, the amount of technology and user interface is overwhelming. After living with the car for a few days it’s becoming more intuitive.
The build quality and materials are first rate. It’s a very solid vehicle and if optioned properly, it can be a very nice place to spend time.
The ride can be either very graceful or very Sport like depending on which mode you choose. The seating position and visibility is fantastic and there is plenty of power with the four cylinder.
So far I am very pleased with our choice and we look forward to getting to know more about this vehicle in the coming weeks.

Just found and leased a P250S in Byron Blue yesterday from Land Rover Norwood (big selection). Will be getting it sometime early next week. Looking forward to it (but not the techno part from what you say!).

When I was looking at Rovers recently, I thought the Velar would look best in black or grey. Once I saw them in person, they looked markedly better in lighter metallic colors.

The Velar you got is the same color as my Evoque that came off lease. We looked at getting the same color for the Velar, but found that the selection in that color was very, very limited. Then we started to find the blue as an attractive alternative.

For the heck of it, I did a nationwide search on Cars.com. Out of 3400 Velars, there was 1000 each black, white, and gray/silver, and only 100 blue and 100 other (which would include your Kaikoura Stone). Don't understand the obsession with all the no-colors. At least you won't be meeting yourself on the road!
