Hello! I wanted to announce a new car gathering in conjunction with the State of California called… Supercars by the Sea This will be a re-occurring monthly meeting of Supercar Enthusiasts at Huntington State Beach. The first meet will be on Sunday January 14th from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. This event is fully approved & permitted by the California Department of Parks and Recreation. I developed this event with the input of the City of Huntington Beach and the willingness of the State to allow growth in its 1,000+ space parking lot. As car meets continue to get pushed out of existing venues, I was seeking a permanent solution in a scenic place, for all to enjoy for decades to come. The best way to enjoy the event is to purchase the Annual State Parks Pass (good at all Parks statewide) or there is a $15 day use pass to get into the park. A couple of quick details: Parking will be reserved for each meet (Plenty of room for trucks and trailers). Enter at Magnolia & PCH. The Park prefers cash but, does have credit card capability at entry. 21601 Pacific Coast Hwy, Huntington Beach, CA 92646 Instagram: supercarsbythesea https://www.instagram.com/supercarsbythesea/ Additionally, the permit requires a one-time free registration. We can’t have any “anonymous” attendees. Please Register here! Sponsorship opportunities are also available at [email protected] See you there!
Thanks all. Guess I should add site pics... Please forward this thread to your Supercar friends. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
If you buy the Annual pass wait until January 1 or later as it will expire Dec 31st 2018 https://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=1049
I should clarify as I have received other questions about the State Park Annual Pass. Whatever month you buy the pass in, it will expire on the last day of the pervious month the following year. Example: buy it Feb 14th 2018, it will expire Jan 31 2019. The great news is it good for all special events (like the airshow) and holidays when the parks charge a higher daily rate ($20-25 a day).
Might also be good idea to clarify if this event, considering its name & "mission statement", (pre-)registration requirements including car make/model, etc, is attempting to limit the access only to "Supercars"(?) and/or preventing "anonymous" spectating by the masses ?
I had one exotic dealer pledge to bring out 4 to 6 "Hypercars" to the event today. They will also sponsor as the event expands in time from monthly to bi-monthly then eventually weekly. They think this is a true home run because of the location.
I am in. Note for those of us 62 or older you can buy a non peak season pass for $20. Pretty much pays for itself first use.
Correct. Super cars by the Sea is just a name. After dealing with the State for 5 months I wasn't going to call it **** Boxes by the Sea. Ha. Sent from my Pixel 2 using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Extra thanks to Java On The Go for coming out to provide the coffee and food. https://yelp.to/qTKq/1dm7VVVYyI
Spectators are allowed. They just have to park outside our reserved / coned area. Normal Park parking fees still apply. Sent from my Pixel 2 using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Ok great thanks, this will do for now till I get my car back from the shop. I guess I can buy the annual pass anytime?
Go back to post #10 in this thread as to pass purchase timing. See you then. Sent from my Pixel 2 using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Sounds very cool! Question about the pass- Is it per car, or does it go with the person? For instance, I have 2 cars that I could bring. If I buy an annual pass for the Ferrari, do I need to buy a second pass for the Porsche?
That my friend is a great question. Please check the state parks website for information. I would think it belongs to the person. I see the gate just wave people through with the pass they don't bother stopping you. Sent from my Pixel 2 using FerrariChat.com mobile app
