My F430 was just lowered from U.S. spec. to about European spec. (about 1/2 inch) with new alignment. The handling is so much better...who knew? No problems with bottoming out on my roads.
A lot of us. Congrats, and welcome to the fun world of questioning whether or not that's a dead animal on the road up ahead or just some leaves. Dale

Lonnie, your Rosso gated 360 is BEAUTIFUL! I had one but yours is a looker- prettier than mine ever was...
Is there a good DIY process in lowering the F430? On my P car I measure all 4 corners and then proceed. Is there a different method for the 430?
It is a good idea to set the alignment at the normal, or high, ride height because lowering will increase negative camber, which is what you'd want for performance driving. This makes it possible to raise and lower your car yourself, based on need, without having to reset the alignment every time. For example, for normal driving, you only want minimal negative camber to maintain streetability, and then lower the car .75 inches and pull in more negative camber for performance.driving . This is just an example, but if you minimize the negative camber on the high side, then lowering it would improve the desired camber settings when needed. If you want to ride around all the time in a low setting, just for appearance, then you will want to set the alignment in that setting. Set it and forget it.
This might sound like a dumb question, but can you lower it yourself easily without an alignment shop?
I don't know where you guys drive, but my stock ride-height 16M hits in a number of spots around our house. We do live in the hills over Silicon Valley and there are "chin slappers" all over the place. There are areas where I need to slow to 5MPH or suffer the sound of my front end slapping the road. If I lowered my car even a pinch, I fear I'd find all sorts of new places where my car hits.
i did this on an oem suspension. i left thinking it looked great and a month later i brought it back to be raised. it was sloppy and scraping everywhere. Yes i had an alignment done by P1 in stamford and it didn't matter. I dont believe the euro cars and US cars have the same suspension parts. something is different.
How many hours did it take to raise it again? My shop is telling me the alignment is £350 because they have to adjust all kinds of settings. Then they also need approx. 6-8 hours to just raise it.
