Ferrari 412T1. Well balanced, beautiful ovoid side intakes, V12 engine, gold wheels . . . From a concours point of view, this 1994 challenger is just gorgeous. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
yep, Not all though. The cars driven by James Garner, Yves Montand, Antonio Sabbato, and ... Brian Bedford, were actually not even F-2 cars, they were F-3 cars with different bodies and bolted on exhausts.... but they did use several F-1 car's to shoot the on screen footage, cameras were mounted to the front of Jack Brabham's car, as well as Jackie Stewarts BRM... mostly driven by Bob Bondurant. some of the training footage was using a GT 40 with no body work and cameras front and back... some of them with a standing camera man!!! my point is that F-1 car's of the 60's were sleek and national colors evoked a different time... it was truly a Club era.
At one time I actually could fit into this car. I got to "drive" this car through the paddock at Road Atlanta during the 2000 annual meet... when I say drive - I steered the car, while others pushed... the owner was a super nice guy... who had to run off for a Bathroom break.... so we they had to clear the pit area.. so someone had to fit in it!!!
There's an Australian that owns either this or the T2, big guy 6'6''...and he fits AND drives it! Big big cars... It's not modified either (apart from obviously his own moulded seat but that's about standard)
I know these things. I thought it was this thread wherein I corrected myself and stated, more or less, the same. (edit: Yahoo. The short term memorie's not as bad as I thought. I did: I don't remember the F! shots though and that's long term...yikes!!!! )
These are all beautiful! The Silk Cut XJR-14s were the closest thing to purple F-16s on the ground. And the Lowenbrau Porsche 962s were works of art.

1967 - the only 1966 version to get the centre-exhaust engine was Parkes' long-chassis car that was destroyed at Spa. Paul M
Lancia D50 Mercedes W196 Maserati 250F Eagle Weslake Lotus 49(BRG) Lotus 72(JPS) McLaren M23 Ferrari 312T(1) Wolf WR1 Brabham BT52 Ferrari 412T(1 and 2)
My favourite is the Renault RE-20, I love the tunnel rear wing, the way the rear cowl slopes back with an undercut of exposed intakes, the massive side pods in contrast to the slim driver oriented body work, the driver forwards position like a rocket ship, the way the front wings don't really impact the view of the car. For many reasons, it scores my favourite. Second is difficult to say, I really like the pre ground effects cars, and choosing my favourite of them is tough. Lots of artistic sheet metal and engine on display with the mid engine cigar cars. The '65-'68 cars of Ferrari, BRM, and Honda would be at the forefront. Car's like the F189, despite racing before I was old enough to knew it existed; by being like the car's in books on F1 racing I read years later score very well with me. Those machines were something special. I would say the cars 10 years after my favorite, and more than 10 years before are really awesome. I think a lot of the 70's and early 80's F1's are ugly, their only redeeming beauty is their performance. Didn't really like anything from 2000-2013, probably my least favorite era of cars.
