I need some help for the race this year. My buddies and I attended Le Mans last year and were able to get tickets that came with a tent that was already set up, sleeping bags, and showers/bathrooms. We can't find anything like this for the ring. We are all traveling in from outside Germany so it is tough to bring everything necessary to camp. We enjoy camping because it is nice to be in the middle of everything! Any help is appreciated.
Here's your answer: http://traveldestinations.co.uk/motorsport-events/nurburgring-24-hours/ Full disclosure - we stay at a small hotel nearby, so can't speak from personal experience. Camping at the Ring is a real adventure - trackside locations are usually taken by the same groups every year, so going with your own gear and hoping to get in line early to get a spot of your choosing doesn't work very well. Having said that, you need to spend some time in the campgrounds. The Germans build. They plan. They bring pallets. They bring music systems. They bring beer. We go every year, so DM me if you have other questions.
Thanks guys! Calling Travel Destinations today. Kevin -- I will shoot you a PM as we get a little closer.
Been three times: 2012, 2015, and 2016. Haven't been to Le Mans (bucket list), but like Kevin said it's an adventure and you're in for a real treat. Enjoy!
