Amen. And I certainly hope nobody ever takes "great care" of my 308 like that!

Ohh, that's a shame. I was hoping he'd get a bit part in the (someday) Magnum movie.

Same, although I'm older than you are. Pity to start the day with such news (7:30 a.m here in Paris).

sad to hear: everybody liked the Higgins character, and I'm sure Thomas Magnum too...

Magnum P.I. was a fantastic TV series and Higgins was the most amusing part of the show

He was perfectly cast. The Higgins-Magnum dynamic was always entertaining.

    RIP.

Evidence of the widespread popularity and impact of the show is that BBC News currently has Hillerman's death announcement prominently displayed on their website. The show's popularity reached beyond we tifosi.

I've only watched a couple of episodes and after I bought my 308, but I have become increasingly curious.

RIP Mr. Hillerman.. thank you sir. Such a very big part of my childhood.

I for one hope the new Magnum PI never gets off the ground. EVER.
Would be like trying to remake "it's a wonderful life. " without Jimmy Stewart.

Sorry to hear this.., I still remember TC calling him Higgy-baby.
I too was hoping he would have a role in the Magnum pi reboot.
RIP... I remember his line on the tv show : Oh, my god.

If you ever saw him interviewed, he was incredibly funny and articulate; an actor cute from a true thespian cloth.

Gone to the great Robin's Nest in the sky; RIP Johnathan Quayle Higgins III.

    RIP Mr Hillerman!

if you haven't watched the show you should, its cast perfectly. it is also well written, the plots have a lot of variety to them, its really imaginative.

both of these reasons are why we are against a remake, they might find a couple of good actors, but they would just use the same cookie cutter plot over and over and over and over

Have always enjoyed the show and Hillerman in it. As others have said, great chemistry with him and Selleck. It's a real shame he went.
