We make a fabulous tube amp called the Dynamo MK II which is a breakthrough headphone amp and great on speakers. Many of our customers use the Audeze.

I drove the 720S prior to the Performante. I was ready to put a deposit and place an order but I convinced myself to hold off until I could experience the Performante. To say I was mightily impressed by the 720S would be an understatement. The only vestige of doubt I harboured about the 720S was that it was just a tad too refined and comfortable. But a week later I drove the Performante and my emotional response to it was undeniable. No longer was I intellectually ticking boxes of accomplishments and excellences of performance. Instead my body, brain and heart combined to innately and instinctively resolve the dilemma of which one I wanted to own.

I appreciate your kind words. I was brought up to always keep an open mind to all ideas and then decide which are worthwhile. Doing otherwise is not only counter productive, it is the enemy of progress and enlightenment.

The latest offerings from Lamborghini, Ferrari and McLaren are truly pushing the envelope in the creation of the finest super cars ever made. Do not dismiss any of them due to past prejudices or preferences. Simply go and experience them not only for the joy of it but it will furthermore, prove to be edifying.

Geez Lukeylikey...don't give him the big head or he will roll back into his Freudian thought process. The fact that he uses the term "I was brought up" shows me that he has some country intellect balled up inside that Freudian vocabulary...and that is a good thing.

Coincid builds a nice speaker and that industry is PLENTY competitive..so analyzing the nuances of a supercar should be right up his alley.

I wished Ferrari would have offered a road going V10 at some point in the history, considering that that the V10 era was one of their most successful in F1.

New Supertest 720 S today in German Auto Bild Sportcars (measured without co-driver)

    0-100 kph: 2.7 s
    0-200 kph : 7.2 s
    0-300 kph: 19.4 s

Race course Sachsenring : 1:29,46 min with Pirelli Corsa, not Trofeo, which is likely faster.

Supertest 488 GTB in same magazine with Michelin Cup 2:

    0-100: 2.8 s
    0-200 : 8.4 s
    0-300 : 23.9 s

    Sachenring: 1:30,99 min

    ( Porsche Turbo S Exclusive 607 PS: 1:31,23)

Very euphoric test of 720 S in Autobild Sport Cars, no weakpoints mentioned.
All is better than at 675 LT or 650 S.
720 S is currently one of fastest serial cars ( longitudinal) you can buy for money and
    also convincing on race tracks.

For me up to kow, I have no regrets having bought 720 S. May be I will sell my 488.

Thanks for the compliment about our speakers. When you manufacture a state of the art product, the devil is in the details. No detail, however small can be minimized or overlooked. They are cumulative and fundamentally impact upon the final product. Applies equally to super cars and audio components.

I like how you summed up your feelings for the Performante. I agree I need to drive one. I suppose where I spend the vast majority of my time now, Pittsburgh, for business purposes, I prioritize a car that can handle the truly awful roads more than be full on exciting consistently.

Similar to you though, I love where all three brands are right now, especially Lamborghini and Mclaren. If we face facts however, Ferrari is and has been putting out truly excellent creations for over a decade now. Perhaps we’ve all gotten spoiled by them.

I’m easy to please though, I think basically all of these super cars are great (R8, NSX, Turbo, 570S, etc)

If you value comfort and speed and a toned down version of the 720S, the 570S at a significant savings may work for you. In street mode, very comfortable, compliant, yet very tight and fast. Perks up in sport. I would compare it to a Porsche Turbo ( S). Too refined, not raw enough for my tastes but the Mclaren dealer advised that for city driving many of their customers are sticking with their 570S.

It has 700 rwhp, so more like 800 hp and it's quite light.

no, in this test by sportcars the car was messured with 745hp... So this particular test
car did not have 700rwhp or 800hp. Scans will be out tomorow

Great writeup! Thanks for sharing your thoughts on each car! I'm looking forward to seeing how Ferrari and McLaren respond with their special edition cars.

How do you know their dyno is correct? You can make a dyno show anything. Unless they pulled the engine and dyno'd it (which they didn't) then the number is meaningless without proper comparison. We've already seen the 720S put down 700 rwhp in the US multiple times.

We've also already seen that from a roll, it's quicker than a 918.

How do you know then that Us dynos are correct... no doubt that wheel dynos tend to by incorrect. Soon we have a second test from Sportauto, also with a dyno reading.
I susbect that the official 0-300time by factory is underated not the Hp. A 675lt had an official time 0-300kmh with 22.5sec but with 45hp (official less) and worse drag, plus longer gear ratio.. So officialy those 2 cars are only 1 sec appart to 300kmh dispite hp,drag diff... i think this is the main error, but could of course be wrong we will see

I don't, but the race results we've seen indicate it's more than likely. An LT is really close to a 918, yet the 720S will pull a 918 from a roll. Also, we've seen it go into the 9s in the 1/4 mile and with very high trap speeds. It would indicate it's a lot more than 745 hp.

    A 675 is no where near a 918
But a 720S is certainly just as quick if not quicker.

Hello I am from England. I am new here so I apologise if I offend anybody

I am a true Ferrari fan through and through. I like mclaren cars however if you look at their business model and I am quite experience at that. Basically they were forced to launch the company due to various financial cycle and investors. The earlier model were delivered with so many faults and design flaws. If it was any other make they would have been slagged off the menu by the press. However being patriotic many did not do so. I am referring to the 12c. Look at the price now.....

Basically the unspoken thing is to push out as many variants as possible and use profit to fund the development of prototypes. Their F1 programme is a mesh and has been for some years now

Me and my friend sees through this and avoid mclaren by a mile. Please be very careful when tempted by their sales pitch which is performance

Key point no matter how wealthy one is depreciation, pedigree and then performance - in that order

Anyway so much for first post

Enjoy your 650 s my friend but life is short and things will change when you come to selling it ......oh dear
