Looks like a nice car. Nit picking details: wrong headrests, wrong steering wheel.

Love the wood steering wheel! I know it's not original to the car, but really classes it up.

Anything else you experts see that's not original or worth contemplating?

I had asked about the steering wheel and they have the original one that will go with it - I'll ask about the headrests.

You guys are so good on the details! Thanks!!!

There are a few minor detail issues but nothing serious. The Pininfarina badge has been mounted on the wrong side of the car. The door mirror has been mounted too far back on the door which will make seeing out of it difficult. I had this issue on one of my Dino's and had the mirror moved to the correct location when I had the car restored. The cabin floor looks to have been painted red (see area around seat rails below each seat). It should be painted satin black. The seat rails should also have covers fitted but these are fairly simple to make. The foam strip under the front hood that mates up to the top of the radiator is missing. The contact switch to operate the rear licence plate lights is missing.

US spec, all tail lights should be red, not amber.

Under tray looks all wrong and riveted in.

    Incorrect tires, of course.

Books and tools not pictured, they can make a big difference.

Especially the warranty card which is the only item specific to an individual car and therefore not replaceable.

Overall, it looks very nice in photos.

I am pretty sure I bought it for 45,000 in 86 and sold it for 160,000 in 89’
    Those were easy money days
    This expression started then.

    Something like
“ you can never pay too much for a ferrari, you can only buy it too early”

Ahh... I remember now..Ted Rutland had a pair of New Old Stock 365 Daytona seats in stock..I bought them from him..this is why the headrests are different.
Also the steering wheel from him....Wonder if he is still alive?

Wow what a small world! Thanks for your insight - Still looking around - I have the fever pretty bad but have about 3 months before the garage is done, so I'm patiently evaluating options, as many as possible..

Funny but at the time my friend Fred Baum, loved my car so much and I would not sell it to him...We together found 08230 and bought it for him..it was one car away on assembly line , also C and F car...We paraded up and down the palisades parkway and throughout bear mountain region...it was a thrilling time to drive Dino's
I want one again...and only a chairs and flairs will do.

If this car was platinum level, i would estimate a price of $550,000. 00 or more.
By the looks of the undercarriage of this car, i would consider a frame off resto to make it platinum.
I would estimate this cars value at $400,000.00 to $450,000.00

I've searched all the Dino's I can find - I'm sure the right one will come up in due time - I found a few restored ones in Europe but not sure if I want a European non AC non targa car - even though they are restored.. The hunt is fun and I'm patient..

Funny coincidence. I own 08230 and drive it often. Good luck with your purchase - you'll love the car.

Marchal Amplilux headlights are wonderful! You can really ramp up the candlepower with them as they have two separate bulbs in each headlight - just make sure to use relays (that you can hide) so you don't burn out the steering column headlight switch if you use higher powered bulbs!

    Forgot to tell you,
Fred had a pill problem for a while...He smacked that car up pretty bad on rte 78 in Jersey..he was in hospital for a few days..Dont know if there is any report on it, but the frame was bent and the front end smashed...I believe Vinny at auto elite handled the repair...In case you want to dig in and find out.
I wonder if motorcar gallery disclosed this??
