That's pretty strong. Congrats. Have had my '87 TR at that price up on Autotrader for a week with 1000 views but zero calls. May post it up here.
WOW Just got home...Hammered at $130,000 I was kinda shocked, happily so.. My "05 DB9 with 33k miles hammered at $58k also a really strong number, and my "85 Jalpa hammered at $62k....not what I was hoping for but a decent number.
130k is really high these days. Did u have anything else done on it that would have attracted buyer? Like diff or clutch done? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Engine out service was done in Jan of 2015 from the selling dealer, and I had a luggage set...I'm sure that helped
Right place, right time, and you had two bidders that were in love with the car. With the 10% she actually sold for $143k! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I guess! Congrats! If u look on Autotrader; like another poster mentioned; lots of cars sit and dont sell so u did excellent!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That's a fantastic finish. Could be T.R. prices have bottomed out and on an up-turn? I had an opportunity to feature my T.R. at the Quail Lodge Bonhams auction next week but hesitated. Your TR should bring strong comps for the 2 TRs going up next week.
I'm intrigued. Been trying to sell my black TR. Its in the classified here and everywhere else(autotrader, cars etc). You guys think its worth the fee to try at auction? Maybe people will be more inclined to buy? I'm in LA so I can just drive it up to Monterey for their auction next week... MONTEREY 2017 AUG 16-19 BTW - Congrats on the sell!
I think u should! I am pleasantly surprised by that strong sell! Ur car is great but ,like many on the websites you are mentioning, is taking time to sell. I honestly think u should give it a go! No idea what the fee is but if u check most cars on the aforementioned website they have been sitting for 6months plus so if you put a reserve you have nothing to lose. I would definitely give it a try....on the upside, the Monterey is a big money auction with fewer cars than Harrisburg... My car was #9 out of the top 10 in Harrisburg..A $130,000 car will NOT be in the top 10 at Monterey......On the down side, when I registered my car in the Harrisburg auction it was April and there were about 10 other cars registered at that time, so it got 4 months of exposure...Mecum lists them on the DuPont Registry website, Hemmings, etc.... Not sure how much the 4 months of marketing helped, but I'm sure it didn't hurt .... Good Luck!!
