I think he's referring to Floyd Mayweather, the boxer.

This is akin to complaining that Ferrari use Vettel in their advertising rather than the guy that runs the hospitality department.

Most people had to Google who Wallace is, most people didn't for Ronaldo. Its that simple.

Average Chiron buyer owns 3 jets, a yacht and some 40 odd cars, according to Durheimer.
Surely he will be influenced with his decision to buy one by hearing that a Champion (in ball kicking back and forth) "approves" that car........
    Stupid commercial indeed.

Same as Porsche showing the GT2RS at E3. Pure genius IMO.

With the onslaught of EV's and PC "Leftard" governments destroying what's left of fun, car companies have enough of a hard time ahead of them.

They should use every angle possible.

Actually not true at all. The United States has the 2nd highest number of people playing soccer at some level in the world (China is 1st).

I can't find the numbers now, but I'm pretty sure at the youth level, we are also #1 or #2. The sport is incredibly popular here, has been since I'm a child. It tends to fall off at the pro level, but now that we get foreign league coverage on TV, it's massive.

A lot of people know who CR7 is. Whether he's the right spokesperson for Bugatti is debatable, but trust me he is extremely well known here in the States.

Let's face it, Bugatti Veyron & Hiron were never meant to be a driver's car !!

The car drives itself... It has all the comforts... Electronic systems...

To make any idiot millionaire / billionaire be able to drive this fast...

Therefore, the marketing is genious... If Ronaldo can do it, so can you !!!

It's all a matter of money $$$$ not skills...

Now I get it, looking at this from that point of view and suddenly it makes sense

"If Ronaldo can do it, so can you !!!"
