Definitely Bentley logo and Bentley wheels, but it sort of looks like a BMW E34 with rounded edges... weird car...

This collection is so sad IMHO. One man with too much money, hiding away such beautiful cars and many just left to rot.

This is what looks like to be a Bentley Imperial but no information what so ever available. The one on the right is a Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary (there is one with the exactly same spec which got sold to New York). Notice on the back of the Bentley, another Countach, this one in yellow. Behind the red Countach 25th Anniversary there is a yellow Jaguar XJR-15.

Still an unidentified car, but what a car! One of the 4 EB110 SS ordered by the Brunei Sultanate (one of them visible in my previous post / chassis 01), finished in a so special combination that probably only Jeffri can understand the meaning (or not?). Two possibilities for the chassis number : SS39002 or SS39013. I am expecting to find out some more information about the car from Loris Bicocchi.

In the following photo posted before, there were three (3) DAUER 962 LM's visible, one of them painted in green metallic:

I found a photo on the web, which has probably already been posted here of the same car, but with registration plate visible:

This car should neither be black, red, yellow nor green! I found out that if the car is silver, than it is quoted to be in Brunei's garage number 5 (a.k.a. the glass house). In the photos below, you can see the McLaren F1 GTR (09R) - Ueno Clinic livery replica and next to it (to its RIGHT side), it appears to be the silver DAUER 962 LM. Judging by the different floor tiles, if compared to other garages, this could be garage number 5 (a.k.a. the glass house).

A few more photos from the outside of garage number 5 (a.k.a. the glass house) and you can clearly see the McLaren F1 GTR (09R) - Ueno Clinic livery replica pictured above.

If we zoom in, we can see that exactly on its RIGHT side there is what is supposed to be the silver DAUER 962 LM!!!

Mystery of the silver DAUER 962 LM solved? :)

Is the first Dauer 962 LM and was presented at the IAA 1993 in Frankfurt (yellow/yellow with alloy Speedline rims). The same car was later displayed at the motorshow in Dubai (yellow/yellow with alloy Speedline rims) and Singapore (yellow/yellow with alloy BBS rims). According to some rumors/sources the Sultan bought this car at the Singapore Motorshow. Before it was sold, this car was also covered by car magazines from all over the world around that time (1993/94). There are also some promo shots of this car with black Speedline rims! This Dauer 962 LM was equiped with a 5-speed manual gearbox which was placed on the very right of the cockpit (same as in the 956/962 race cars). In late 1997 the car was seen at the factory in Nuremberg. Probably, at that time the car got its red interior, tinted windows and the semi-automatic gearbox which was now placed in the middle of the cockpit! In 1998 this car was photographed in Brunei in that particular configuration and appeared in articles in Autocar and Wheels.

This car was photographed in that particular configuration in Brunei at a workshop.
(NOTE: For some unkonwn reasons there are actually TWO 962-chassis numbered 141!). In 1989 Dauer crashed this #141 in Mexico City. It was later rebuilt around a new unnumbered factory chassis. Dauer and Konrad Racing used this rebuilt car in 1990. It was later converted into this 962 LM #141. As written, there is another #141 which was also owned by Dauer at least up until 2002. It is a 962C Short Tail/Sprint Body race car. It has a white/green TicTac livery and wears start number 17 - a number Dauer used in the 1989 season. The car was seen at the factory in 2001 and in the Dauer Showroom in 2002. It was sold in 2003. Currently it is raced in the historic GTP-Series, still in its original livery.

If you use someone elses work, then at least link to the original source and give respective credits, as I - as a matter of fact - wrote that article about the Dauer 962LM, almost 10 years ago for Supercars net, you are quoting!!!

Why the hell doesn't that sultan clean and expose all that collection in a museum instead in letting it die in some dark warehouses...

Such a small country with such an immense, important and influential automotive collection, yet so mysterious; especially considering a period when one-off cars and bespoke commissions were not as common as nowadays. Even today an order of 6 or 7 seven bespoke cars to Ferrari or Pininfarina would be considered out of this world. It's such a shame that at least visitors aren't allowed in. If only Brunei was closer to Croatia...

Supercars are rotting away... just look at this yellow McLaren F1 (014) when it left Brunei for the United States when it got repainted in white. Notice the alcantara ripples on the top of both door and dash. Probably a consequence of high temperatures and humidity. Not to mention paint cracks on the outside. If I remember correctly the car had something like 300 kms on the odometer. Thank God it has been rescued.

    Think about it.

The Sultan was humiliated by his brother to the tune of $14 billion plus.

It would've taken everything he had to 'forgive him' as opposed to murdering him or similar.

Brunei is, perhaps because of the way the brothers were, intensely conservative and abides by Sharia Law. Or at least, the common folk abide by it, I suspect the royals still don't.

The brothers were brought down by their fully conservative brother who implemented the changes.

Jefri has been 'forgiven' on the surface and allowed to live out his days and the collection, the story, everything to do with the way they were has been buried and hushed. Hearing stories from Brunei residents in comments related to this all over the internet, it's pretty much forbidden in social circles to speak ill of the royals as I suspect the punishment is pretty severe. Selling all the cars would mean the dissent gets a lot louder.

If they started selling off all the rare cars publically for the first time the car parts of the internet would break. Everyone would be talking about it, even now.

Where the cars go, the story goes with it and it gets propagated for decades. Brunei is suddenly in the spotlight again and the royals are under intense pressure from the people and the religious sects because of it.

It's easier to do nothing and pretend like they don't exist than acknowledge them and invite a whole world of trouble, sad as it is for us as car fans to see.

Original post 2005. looking back, and reading some, there must be a saleable book on the history of the collection, and maybe,(see yesterday) ZFFDT could be the guy to write it. The Jag 220 collection of 12 cars appears to have been aquired early on. They are worth, say 250K now,but I wonder what he paid when trying to corner the market in ,what is now a limited appeal car. Lacking any maintenance, those Jags could struggle to find buyers at any price if they came to market. Do you think the family had any idea of how to handle the collection,or was it simply that they had to dispose of millions each week, and this was just one way of doing it ?

Definitely the latter. I think they don't even know what is still parked in their garages. Keep in my mind that they own real estate all around the globe, garages equipped with cars that probably have not been touched since their delivery.

Whilst I'm fairly sure most if not all cars are probably beyond help, at least with the XJ220's you've got the option of Don Law Racing to completely restore them.
