I don't think it's possible to import to US or CND market before 2024 ( when it's 15 year old ) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
All I know it can be imported for 12 months and then it has to be reimported Never heard if it can be brought as a race car/off road Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm surprised you can't sell it locally? Unfortunately no matter how cheap it is, it still can't be imported to CDN or usa. :-( Sent from my BBA100-1 using Tapatalk
[QUOTE Unfortunately no matter how cheap it is, it still can't be imported to CDN or usa. :-( Please pardon my ignorance....but why exactly car cannot be imported to USA? Wouldn't this be handled like a Boxer or other factory "non-imported" cars? EURO model 550 Barchetta...didn't buyers bring these in before the 14 or 15 year "rule" then Federalize once car arrived to USA? It all seems so silly really? Gotta be a way to do this that does not overwhelm the "deal" aspect of this car?? Best, JN
Well the US has the 'show and display' law for historically important vehicles that can be exempt from the 25 year import ban rule. I believe the stipulation is the car has to be made in limited quantity or somehow special. A McLaren F1 etc. could make the cut I am not sure about a 599... They made way to many (More than 500) and they already had a US DOT specific model. It's only for models that never had a release in the US.
There used to be companies that could "federalize" a car for around $25,000. I dunno if they are still around.
It can be imported and federalized. There is legwork to do and I don't know what the cost would be for a 599. Then, the resale price would be lower as well as a gray market car. I will stop there instead of speculate on numbers. It is a nice car. GLWS
