Anybody else going? I just ordered our tickets yesterday...
I ordered tix from Vividseats and they state to be good for a 5pm entry. 5pm??? The race is over by then.
Just got off the phone with a COTA rep. Andreas.....you got your tickets thru a 3 party and probably paid a little more. The time is not right. I used this info for the call. 512-655-6300 [email protected]
I ordered tickets through the FCA link. Seats were the same price as those available to the general public, but included a few extras. A party invitation and a link to discounted parking, plus one or two other minor additions.
Time is not right meaning what? Yes obviously it is not right. The question is will COTA let me in at 9am with such a ticket or not?
Yes they will let you in per Westin the COTA rep. Also, he gave me a website of some hotels that COTA is affiliated with around the area(bout 15 of them listed below...fyi). Circuit of The Americas
Awesome, thanks a lot. I got super seats across from pit lane. Should give my Bigma lens some nice targets
Bigma or Sigma??? you taking your 800mm?? (if you got one; pretty expensive too) although a 500mm is great too.
I was looking at the FOM site for paddock club passes & they have "Packages"... one package for $33K... includes Paddock club for 3 days party with Grosjean, and two laps in the double seater F-1 car... and Justin Timberlake tickets... along with many other " un forgettable moments".... This does not include hotel or travel!!! any takers?
We will be there, running the Tyrrell in the Masters Historics, should be epic. Image Unavailable, Please Login
F1 Historics part of the USGP weekend? What day? PS: I think I saw that car running when it was brand new
Tifosi, we are a support race for the USGP and Mexico GP. we will run all three days, will be full grid, probably 27 cars. its going to be special. just hope the rain is not super crazy like 2 years ago.
OMG!!! Fantastic news! Tks for the reply. You guys rock. Many times I have been tempted to do what you guys do but never pulled the trigger. At any rate I'll cover you in my story PS: from my leaking memory: wasn't a Candy Tyrrell involved in a massive flip over at a Monaco start? I remember it from TV
Yes, same group, we run in the Masters Historics. I last ran in 2015 in my Williams. Not that we ran much, more like swam! Welcome to Masters Historic Racing - UK & USA Historic Motor Racing Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thank the Master Historic group, they do the best job getting it all together. the F1 guys run all over Europe and the US. Very competitive, by no means a "car show". This picture is from two years ago at the Rolex in Monterey, its going to be the same idea at the USGP. Yes, one of the Candy Tyrrell 010's got airborne, with Derek Daly driving. My car is a 79 009. So you have two F1? The 79 Tyrrell and the Williams? Is the Williams '83 by any chance? Here are pictures I took at the 79 Hockenheim and the 83 Monaco GP. I assume I got one/both of your cars? If you like I can send you the pics in full res via email. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I sold my 83 Williams FW08C in 2016, bought the 009 Tyrrell this year. I also have a Lola T292. The Williams was a "T" car and never raced. The Tyrrell was the active suspension test mule, never raced, however most everyone at Tyrrell drove it back in the day. The Williams 08C in your pictures is owned by a fellow racer and should be at COTA. Image Unavailable, Please Login
So you have active suspension now? I'd assume (the active suspension not withstanding) the Tyrrell is a good deal easier/less costly to maintain than the Williams. And probably easier to drive. If I were to buy a F1 it would be a seventies car as well
