Sale pending on a 2003 Cadillac Escalade 6.0 AWD with 137k miles. I just need to figure out how I'm going to get it from Ohio to Alabama for $600 (the amount it would cost to fly there and drive it back) or less. All the best, Andrew.
It may be after the fact, and I have a 2004 pickup that I love, but the following are almost always a problem on these at some point- Metal brake lines- SS kits are now available cheap so this repair isn't nearly as involved as it one was. Metal fuel lines, Metal P/Steer lines. Particularly from an area that gets snow/salt like Ohio Cheers, Tom
Yes, good thoughts. I'm already going to get it inspected on arrival and address those issues if they are present. This is the car I've bought... 137k miles, 1-owner, bought new at an authorized dealer, serviced twice a year with that same dealer, and eventually traded in to that same dealer on a new Escalade. So the dealership I bought it from are the only guys to have ever worked on this car. It's more than I wanted to spend, but felt like it was in a condition I couldn't pass up - pulled out all the stops to get it. All the best, Andrew. Since it is going down to Alabama, I think that we should chip in for a 6" suspension lift and some superswampers! How does that sound Andrew? Hahaha
Honestly, I've seen quite a few of those around here! They were automatically excluded from the selection process. All the best, Andrew.
The Smoky Mountains of Tennessee will have to do. All the best, Andrew. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Sounds like a preferred example. Congratulations! An aftermarket entertainment system with no OEM NAV is a good thing at this point, technology and reliability-wise.
That looks to be in excellent condition! I'm surprised you didn't find one for sale in the Bham area. I see tons of those Chevy/Caddy SUVs when I'm in Bham.
There are loads of Tahoes, Yukons, and Escalades for sale here in Alabama, but I found none from the era under consideration that came even close to the condition of the one I secured in Ohio. Everything I saw in a 250 mile radius for <$10k had some kind of major issue. I just got lucky by getting to the Ohio car first before anyone else did. The local dealer here actually told me that there are no good cars left from that generation and that I was far better off taking out a $40,000 loan for a lightly used current production model. All the best, Andrew.
I work for a fairly large Auto group. I might be able to help locate a good one for you. PM good sir and if I find anything that is in great condition I can send you the information Chris B
Thanks for the offer Chris, I appreciate it. However, I've already purchased an Escalade and the search is over. All the best, Andrew.
