    Hi Guys,
Sorry again to ask questions that seem basic.
It seems that my TR was always serviced with non synthetic oil as per manual.
Any benefits of switching to synthetic?
I would assume non synthetic needs to be more regular specially if car sits?
Mine sat a few months prior to sale and it was just serviced 200miles ago but 6months in time. Not sure if I should do it.
Ferrari of sf oil change 850 lol! Local guy 400 or so;)

I can't recall the zinc content of the 15w50 but I know the 0w40 had a decent level ...I prefer a little higher zinc for the valve system that we have in our engines

Will be doing an oil change in the coming weeks and sending out a sample of the used Mobil1 15/50 to Blackstone Laboratory to see how much zinc & other elements are found in 1yr/1k.

What do you think that the Sint in Sint 2000 means? Sint = Synthetic.

I have been using Mobil 1 15W/50 in mine but seeing as it gets very hot here(Tokyo) in the summer I am considering moving to a heavier oil like 20W/50 or even 10W/60. Oh and I winterize her and do not drive in cold temperatures.

Your missing on the best driving. TR's love the cold weather. That crisp air is something special. I prefer not to drive in the height of summer.

The crisp air is great I agree but the frosty mountain roads are not!

Not mine. It hates the cold, loves the summer. The warmer it is the better.

And with this talk oil change recommendations, no one has mentioned that as of now the filters are still NLA.

I would swear by Liqui Moly synthetic all day over Mobil 1. I've raced my E36 M3 at tracks across California for 4 years, and I've used both oils. Liqui Moly is the hands down superior product.

There are plenty of good oils available but LM is something special. If there is something like an honest oil producer LM would be it. Sometimes one can't beat German accuracy and testing and when LM sends theire products for TüV testing and approval - that should count for something.

    They walk the talk :)
