Gentlemen, I agree with all the points being made about this fascinating topic, which happens to be off-topic to this thread, and off-topic to this entire section, so how about we demonstrate our sentiments most effectively by not even talking about this topic, and get right back on topic? :)

    Clearly not.

We see this type of thing ion the car world where someone takes a standard production car and "makes" it a race car claiming Competizione status, simply because it participated in a rally or race, this is not the first time its happened, nor will it be the last.

For a car to be dubbed "Competizione" by the works, it has to be PURPOSE-BUILT as such when new in stripped racing form with standard street running-gear deleted, and competition components such as quick-release fuel filler cap, racing lamps, lightweight windows etc.

It would be recorded by the works as having been delivered as such.

No worries, you can fix the problem by the simple expedient of a 'click'.

I don't think anyone has been harsh at all.

Nice guy notwithstanding, as previously been discussed, the meaningful discussion in this thread have been about accurate representation, or the lack thereof, where it concerns the Lusso.

    Thank you Marcel.

    Very true.

    I see this often.

    Ha, strange.

    Agree with you.
Could also be that he has other things to do than maintaining his IG account, and answering "mean spirited" questions from his followers, and does not want to have the negativity floating.
    Or combination of both.

Hi, are you saying this particular case is the Lee Lusso; that the car is not only misrepresented regarding competition history, but also checkered as far as normal Lusso's go; e.g. not matching numbers or similar?

No, I don't think anyone is "talking smack", and that's not what I have suggested we do.

What I have asked us to try and do is get back on topic by simply avoiding talking about FORDS and focussing on Ferrari Supercars instead, which is, the focus of this section.

I think you're speaking of Amy Macdonald...thankfully she's a certified car nut, owns a yellow Speciale among things. She's not a youtuber but a singer.

Nice. Now, if she would stop closing car doors by pushing on the glass, she'd be the perfect woman - beautiful, talented, petrol head, and lovely accent!

    I know, it's all good.

But you know how people love to take things out of context, so I said what I said.

A good friend of mine bought an '05 GT brand new, and currently owns three in total. He bought one of the Mustang Cobra Jet factory drag cars that Ford built (believe it was a 2012) and owns several classic Fords. Certified car nut, SCCA driving instructor, does lots of track driving and standing mile racing. He has a good relationship with employees of Ford Racing and Ford's SVT division.

He applied for a 2017 thinking he was a shoe-in, and was rejected. He bought a McLaren 675LT instead (his first McLaren), and hasn't looked back.

I would be livid if I was that guy and read stories about people never owning a Ford before let alone a GT and getting one. That is really terrible to hear. I hope he enjoys the McLaren and many more future ones if he decides to stick with the brand.

You (or your mother) would be very well justified in saying much worse about his actions.
