The onboard front wing shots show MASSIVE movement of the elements. Isn't that technically illegal? Why is nothing being done? Is that one of those every team is doing it so look the other way things or what?

 

For those in the US, I wasn't aware that NBCSports has F2 replays on the app. Watching the Barcelona race now. Not bad to hold over haha.

So here is a tally:

1.) F1 2017 test Barcelona day 3 (and day 2 I believe)
2.) Lance Stroll Crash OUT OF RACE!!! Chinese China GP 2017
3.) Lance Stroll Crash FP3 Australia F1 2017
4.) Carlos Sainz VS Lance Stroll Crash Bahrain 2017
5.) Lance Stroll crash Russian F1 2017
6.) Lance Stroll crash Monaco F1 2017

so far, he has crashed on every circuit in reality. Playstation almost everytime!!!!

 

Trouble is he's consistently slow compared to Massa. Who knows maybe the kid had potential but he's probably in a psychological down spiral at this point.

edit: just saw the :wink: at the top of your post. perhaps you were being facetious.

 

What a shame! He could have been on for a perfect record, but he ruined it by not crashing out in Barcelona. Mark my words, he'll regret that in years to come.

As long as the parts pass all the weights tests (hanging weights on certain bits of the wings and them not flexing beyond what is allowed), it's all legal.

Yep exactly...Max, Gilles...both blindingly fast. If they bin the odd car, so be it. Max especially had very few at fault crashes. So far not a finish yet at Monaco but both times he was here he was shining! 2015 was overtaking and going through the field like crazy in that Toro Rosso, until he met Grosjean on old tires whilst Max was on new ones. Only his 5th race at the time, and first crash.

Then last year again, he clipped the barrier in quali which meant a bad start position, but again was scything through the field like nothing else...there where 15 overtakes last year, the vast majority where his! Unfortunately ended in the barrier but he was blinding fast.

Like you say,Stroll both crashes often AND is slow. Not a very good combination...

 

anyone have any idea where the qualifying will be aired in the US?

Merc will probably go back to the FP1 set up ,or somewhere, close for FP3. it is all to play for.Will be a 1 stopper for most ,so safety car incidents/pit stop timing may well again influence the outcome.

Hope Kimi shows up and puts it on the front row with Seb,then we have a fighting chance.

Yep...

Best would be if Ferrari are 1-2 after first corner is let driver 1 scamper of into the distance, as soon as he has the gap put SS on, driver 2 then pits on same lap (undercut).

Yap..and have an eye at all times for Stroll's crash..it's a given it will happen, it it will be sooner than later.
