Here is 101918 that I took a picture of when I visited The Ferrari Centre in Maidstone earlier this year. Swaters on light grey (I don't think it was crema). These pictures didn't do it justice. It was a stunning color combination. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I only have a few old exterior shots, Robb, but mostly in low lighting. Azurro California 1 Azurro California 2 In close-up shots, cameras just turn the colour to silver. I must admit, I would like to try a black roof, rather than the dark navy (My roof looks standard, but I thought the blue roofs were supposed to be lighter). I bought some original replacement black canvas, but my local trimmers are reluctant to fit it (they've had problems before with aftermarket products).... and I'm also wondering if it might wash out the blue even further. Regarding interior shots, I'll see what I can do, but don't hold your breath... My car is in pieces at the moment in a dark and gloomy garage Cheers
Swaters blue metallic with tan interior. nice combo. and for the right price is available Image Unavailable, Please Login
I will post Ian's shots so in case links expire in the future. Pretty car. Robb Image Unavailable, Please Login
Robb could get this one real cheap given it's in a scarp yard. But, it would require a respray and a bunch of other stuff... http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/348-355-sponsored-bradan/527786-disaster-struck-i-think-my-baby-gone.html
I agree 1000% save a salvage car from parting out It's like getting a rescue animal. best feeling one can have
I would love to take a shot at finding EricC's hyperon blue and repairing it. But if you're going to do a respray, i vote for Blue chiaro. Doesn't macco still charge $399 for a full respray ?
https://www.prinsclassics.nl/verkocht/ferrari-f355-berlinetta_3827/?order=datum-nieuwst here is another blue example (not shure about the blue steering wheel) the same dealer sold a special edition (Ferrari Club Italy?) in blue with beige carbon seats, the car is no longer on their homepage... that was a spectacular car! Maybe someone from here remembers it?
My 308 was code 503 Ferrari called it Sebring blue on some paperwork I got from them with the cars colors as it left the factory, I belive that 503 is blue chairo now? I haven't compared the colors in person so I don't know how close they really are if, they could be the same mix of paint but I don't know, All I know is my 308 looked purple in some light and I wasn't crazy about it.
So next question for the brotherhood... Do you prefer metallic paint to glossy or vice versa. Tell me why. I seem to really like the metallics. Are they generally more expensive? Ferrari doesn't have any pearl paints right? How does pearl differ from metallic? Thanks. Robb
I have an Original pearl white 355 GTS (project car by the way, almost complete now, waiting to start on it). The name pearl white is mentioned in the Original papers, so at least the (German) dealer named it that way, with color code GM. Never found out if that is the factory code or the code the dealer gave it... The difference with just metallic is that the hue is more pink/purple, and it changes with the light. Just like a pearl actually. Here ist is explained. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0cvw_5raQVg The pearl is mixed with the clear coat, not with the color itself.
There should be a sticker under the engine hatch that says the colour code. I was unaware they offered the 355 in a pearl white...I've seen one for sale in Japan and I assumed it was a repaint. As for metallic/non metallic...I personally prefer non metallic on the 355 lines.
Metallic or not is a personal preference. But, one thing to note is it's more difficult to touch up / spot repair.
