I am looking at buying a hoist and after some searching have decided on one of these Hood Auto Performance Products | HAPP 95 ? New fully adjustable 1750mm+ lift Does any one have one? I would also be interested to know if any hoists people have bought and are using.
I wouldn't stand under any hoist made in China. How much is your life worth? Buy a Molnar, there are plenty on Gumtree.
I have a couple of friends who have purchased hoists from Tufflift and they have been very happy Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Have any of you had any experience with below ground stackers? Any recommendations (especially in Melbourne)? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
A hoist is a hoist. You don't stand under anything held by a hydraulic seal. My (Chinese) 4 post hoist has very solid ratchet locks. As I assembled it myself, I had plenty of opportunity to check it over. Best tool I ever bought.
A few months ago I was looking to buy a warehouse/workshop for my cars. Found a place in Lane Cove, complete with 4 chinese car stackers, all of which had "not to be used" labels all over them from an inspection company and the wiring disconnected - seems a previous buyer had them inspected and all were dangerous. You're welcome to stand under yours, but I'd pay extra for an aussie made Molnar.
Get a Molnar , I've had mine for 14 years .......... they go for about $1500-2000 2nd hand Image Unavailable, Please Login
That company is owned by a mate of mine. He's a ex systems engineer and worked for all the big guys across the world, has a heap of patents to his name. Everything has been signed off and certified (first few designs were certified by one of my old Mechanical Engineering lecturers who was ex Mercedes). He's big into QA and frequently visits the factory. He's not a reseller, it's his design. I've worked under heaps of them, would happily own one myself. I'd rather a new one of these than a scummy old Molnar off ebay.
BS An inspection company serving its own agenda - like the test and tag brigade - an entire industry built around a service we don't need.
now you're being microaggressive by denouncing mouth-breathers from your privileged position as a heterosexual male nose-breather. That is a hate crime! ps. although I'm not certain about the heterosexual bit, I'll check with Gizzi
I'm glad you didn't call me Anglo-Saxon (I'm a Celt). A colleague was in a group of ophthalmologists travelling to remote Aboriginal (still allowed to say that?) communities treating Trachoma, which can cause blindness and also infects the nose. A woman came up to him on a follow-up visit complaining of a draft up her nose - she'd never been able to breathe through it before. Oh, and what happens on Targa, stays on Targa, although part of the navigator's duties is to polish the driver's helmet.
The government is forming some sort of panel of mediators and judges, and the current euphemism used is "First Nation".
One of the reasons I've got a 4 poster - completely stable, and you don't need to bolt it down. In fact, it can be moved on its own castors. No more stooping or lying on a garage creeper for me!
Thanks for the insight, this lift is mobile and has the post height to fit in the typical 2.4Meter garage ceiling and a low car still allows you to get underneath. being a short A the hight is plenty. I am also have the garage extension done with the floor engineered to take the mounts.
I have never had an issue with the Molnar 2 poster, perfect for everything I need including engine out. You can even hang off the back of the car at full height and jiggle it with no fear of it coming off the hoist. 4 posters make it harder to work on
