Hi, What is the earliest Ferrari 599GTO chassisnumber you know? I would like to know that is the production number of #171989. Best Regards Leo
Earliest GTO SN I'm aware of is 170933 #171989 is the 4th car in my db (ordered by serial number which is not necessary representative of the production order) Thomas
The numbers don't necessarily track in linear order. Mine--aka Black Mamba- is 175963. It was delivered on Sept 30, 2010 flown in on a transport by Ferrari NA as part of the first lot (12) delivered to the US market. The word was FNA wanted to book the sales for Q3 and packed a plane full so they'd have "car" to show in numerous cities across North America.
Not to get off track, but can you share some photos of your Speciale A on the Speciale A photo thread?
Interesting when I pull up " 170933 " , it does not show to be a GTO.. and the #'s before and after it appear to be 458 and/or California's ( I only went 5 either way looking for another GTO ) S
169645 was at the May 2012 Coys auction.....NS from what I have. I don't know which chassis was at the 2010 Beijing show.
Actually that's not true, just didn't see it. 172621 was the Beijing 2010 car. Don't know the assembly #...
Lowest assembly number actually determines which was earliest. VIN/SN is an order number, AN is assigned when she reaches the assembly line.
Was this incorrectly noted at the time ?? I checked and everything I've noted before matches that Lot 125A was 169645.. noted as a no-sale, than I have nothing on it.
yes, incorrectly noted on the ads. 169645 would fit well as the engine number of 178920, so I guess they make confusion between s/n and engine number when puting the ad online.
I thought there were already several posted? I'll take a look and re-fresh soon with a few new ones. Always nice to know these cars are appreciated !
Does anyone here know if the engine bay bonnets (around the engine) were delivered in plastic as a standard and it was an option to order these in carbonfiber? I saw some cars with plastic, just a few with carbonfiber. Or maybe it was just available for early cars and later in prodcution switched to plastic cause of too high production costs?
