I'm just starting to look for a nice reasonable car. Thanks.
A bit more: I'm not looking for a project, but lower miles & good maintanance. I'm also wanting a manual with knock off wheels. Thanks again.
As much as knock-offs look cool Im glad my 400 has bolts. Thats coming from someone thats always taking wheels off these special cars.
Clearly following my 330 to the Concours this past weekend has got Mike thinking about an older Ferrari.
Yes & yes. I was just trying to politely say I decided against a 400. Peter's wire wheels hooked me. I want to have that option. Thanks to all. Hopefully I'll join yr group/thread one day.
Well, then what's the point of having to subscribe to post ads or why even have classifieds section ?
Because by subscribing and putting it 'For sale',you get to reach a wider audience, not just those pertaining to your particular tipo.
OK, I must've misunderstood forum rules by believing advertising, whether for sale or wanted, in model specific sections is/was prohibited, especially by non-subsrcibers and have seen several such advertisements removed in past. OTOH I've also seen some ads posted and left in model specific sections, but these have usually been by subsribers and have link to their actual ad in the classifieds. And what the heck, why should I care, it's not my forum nor my rules.
Borrani wire wheels can be put on 400s, You bolt on their special splined hub, and then the wheel. Lastly the knock on. They call it "kit transfer". They have been available for many years. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Good day Mike, Have you tried to contact Mitchell (Bundas on here)? He has a 1976 365 Gt4 2+2 that he was offering for sale last Fall. I do not know if he sold the car or changed his mind, but it may be worth a PM and/or phone call. Cheers, Sam
The one I posted the link to has recently had a full engine rebuild ... that would sway me ... but then I'm not buying Pete
My opinion of course but wire wheels don't look right on these cars just as they look wrong on a 308. Makes me think the car should have air suspension dragging the rear bumper on the ground an one front wheel dangling in the air.
Again, thanks for all the info & input. I would have gotten that 400 in San Diego if it hadn't just been sold. It was fantastic.
Anyone have a photo of a car with the Borani's? I just love both & hoped I could have both, but I've never seen it.
I have seen pictures on here of a 365 with the wire wheels. It was a darker colored car and I thought it looked pretty good.
I agree with Newman. It's all a matter of personal preference, but I think the 365/400 series look too modern for wire wheels. Same with the 365GTC/4, although it's much closer. I would put the Daytona just over the line on the other side-- wires look okay to me. But, you pay your money and make your choice!
Two Borrani wheels mounted on left side of 365 GT4 2+2 just for the pictures. For me the "Borrani" look is better in real than what the photos suggest, although not as good a fit as the "Commodora" look. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
