The '98 550 Maranello had less than 10K miles. It wasn't a high option example but must have been in really nice condition.

I have never seen one that colour in pictures old or new, so either it is a real car recently repainted (unlikely) or a replica and if the later then why was it at Amelia Island?

Bamfords #0752TR is blue but a different shade, otherwise not sure that any others were blue?

550 barchetta did not sell according to RM's results, which is too bad because it seems it was close to selling.

Was the 250 SWB a perfect example? If yes, then is the value of a 250 SWB Steel less than $9m?

Since RM sold #1905 (A comp car that never raced but presented in perfect condition) for $8.14 million, the notion of the $10 million SWB has been with us. Since then seven Lusso steel bodied cars and three competition examples have been offered, of these only one (maybe 2) Lusso and one competition example have been sold. Not a great set of statistics but partially explained by a friend and colleague, LeMonde Edmond, who noted that he looked for a SWB earlier in the decade and couldn't find one, then fast forward to 2015 and there was at one point ten (10) for sale at one time, hell they only made 165 of them.

How much of a market for a $10 million steel lusso SWB is there?, likely a very small one. Since 2014, Ferrari prices have been slowing settling and are probably 20% off so my punt would be $8 - 9 million, with exceptional cars at $10 million and I would have grabbed that $8.2 (would have been a $9.02 gross which is about right). Competition cars are another few million, depending on history while a Comp/61 will be $20 million +. I will leave it to others that have actually examined the car to discuss the condition but #2639GT has been worked on by John Hajduk, FAI and Motion Products and it is noted to have its red book and be a class winner at Cavallino in 2015, doesn't much better than that.

Tim, any view on the 250GT Alloy Pininfarina Coupe?
Looked like a good car and a good purchase to me, though without investigating the car beyond the auction catalogue description.

My second Ferrari, back in 1959. I didn't know some were alloy and some were steel; just a Ferrari. Long saga about the clutch. 0389GT.

Yes it was a lovely example but much was made of the fact it was a Mille Miglia example even though it was clear that it was delivered after the race. That puts it into a strange market segment where it is worth a little more than the usual example for its spec but not that much more. Further it wasn't 100% original due to having a Chevrolet engine and transmission fitted, now it has the original engine and a OEM transmission which isn't the same as full matching numbers. Finally it is noted as being in excellent condition and ready for the Mille Miglia and should the purchaser wish to compete in that event, there is little better. $2.2 million is perhaps slightly low but still within market due to the 20% dip in the segment...... Can you pm me your email address.
