    For those interested I along with IanB and I estimate 40 other club representitivess attended last night's presentation and Q&A secession.
    As I am using my phone to start this I'll keep it brief, the indications are that the two schemes will continue.
    Some interesting facts
    895 clubs participating in Historic plate scheme
    29,748 H cars
    723 log book clubs
    20,564 cars using log books
    That's 69% of H plate cars on the scheme

    Thanx for posting this Graeme.

    Why would the non logbook clubs go down their route??
    Isn't the idea of being a club member to use your car as much as possible ?
    Particularly if it costs a fraction of full rego price...it's a no brainer for mine,mind you,there are a couple of no brainers here who think otherwise.

    non log book cars are probably garage queens, never to be driven :(

    Most likely that the clubs are either not active, or have few members using historic rego. There's a big factor of ageing membership, clubs literally fading away because they can't attract younger new members.

    Very true, I regularly have lunch with the CGCC ( Country Gentlemans Classic Car Club) the
    Average age is late 70s oldest 85.
    I've been asked to join, and if I did it lower the age a bit.

    I don't think it's legal for 12 year olds to drive, or drink for that matter.

    Biggest info that came out last night was the Classic scheme which is for modified cars that are 30 year old.
    For a "definition" Google RMS VIS over 6.
    Caused quite some discussion
