I think the best colours for the 997 are silver, seal grey and black. I also think that silver is not the best colour for all 911s, but I do think that it looks great on 997s, hence why Porsche's 997 promotional material and advertising featured silver 997s (and seal grey too).

IMHO: 997, 993 look fantastic in silver. O - F series and 964 don't. Some G series and variants look good in silver while others don't. 991 looks good in silver.

Yes, lovely. Looks good on 997.2 and 991. Looks spectacular on 356s.

 

The thing with 911s is you either get it, or you don't.
