Those headers look nice from what I can tell in the pics. Should get a nice power and drivability boost between freeing up the exhaust and getting rid of the barn doors within the fuel distributers.

Thanks, Chris. It took several months of searching and now it's taking another 6 weeks to do the upgrades I wanted before I actually "take delivery" so to speak. (Is that a Lancia Stratos in your avatar?)

I'm just curious if you considered a 512 TR or were you set on the '87?

I had a 512TR some years ago and loved it. However, I guess I am fairly eccentric. Many of us are. I have always thought the first series of any design is always decidedly the best. The 512 has several mechanical improvements that make it somewhat better dynamically when its pushed. Some larger tubes. The engine placed a bit lower and the rear subframe stiffened. However, those are pretty irrelevant for my driving, which is largely cruising around. Its not a sport car. So, the coherence of the original design as it was in the 87 in terms of the front grill and interior really attracted me. The center lock wheels look great. No lug nuts. And the 87 has 2 normally placed mirrors. So, it couldn't be anything but the 87 or I think a few early 88's had the center lock wheels.

Makes perfect sense to me. I own a 512 but am a fan of both the TR and the 512. I was just curious to hear what it is about each of them that interests you, especially having owned both like you have. I am in love with the seats in the TR as they look like pieces of art. I can't think of another seat in any other car like them. Enjoy your new car!

Completely agree on the seats. Like none before or since.

Since we're replacing the carpets with the taupe-colored carpet and recovering the brown dash in matte black, I thought we'd install Dynomat. I found a new Nakamichi CD700 in Japan for a head unit. Very hard tom find. Got the last new Butler Tubedriver amp to go with the old school MB Quart speakers. (Not quite sure why the photos are upside down. Apologies.)

I'm pretty excited myself. Its going to be finished while my wife and I are down in Mexico, but it will be in the garage when we get back! I'll post dyno results and a GoPro. The fellow doing the work feels very good about it.

Hi, Eric. I saw some time ago that you had bought the 458 (I think?). I had a 512 some years ago that I sold and couldn't live without a Testarossa. Yep. Still have the Rx7. I just sort of redid things, since the various mechanics had ruined the cosmetics. You know how I had plated all the plastics and then painted them black wrinkle? Well, I did them over again. The same guy who makes the Oscars did them. I'm posting some pictures. (It's really a shame to paint over the copper plating.) I also had the plastic interior door pulls CNC'd out of aluminum. Its in for a bare metal repaint right now.

Yes. I'm using Motec, but any good aftermarket ECU that will see it as a 12 should work well. Like Haltech or Adaptronic.

I don't know whether I am just poor at searching, but I don't seem to be able to find any dyno results on the Testarossa. Can someone point them out or post a few?

    Thanks

Congratulations. While they were factory shields, I had them removed since the photo.

Why are you adding a radar jammer?
Do you mean a radar detector or a jammer?

I had it done through the guys who did the mechanical work: Panthera Racing in New Jersey. (I just couldn't stand what some refer to as the "poo brown" that it came with.) They sub-contracted the work to a company they have used for years. They also recovered a pair of Recaro carbon fiber competition seats and did a great job on them.
