    Hi Ed,
I think the confusion is because Coys had 48571 (a red/black LHD BBi) at their Techno Classica auction on 16 March 2008 - and then by mistake used the same serial number for 24099 in a later auction.
Bonhams probably just copied and pasted the details from the Coys catalogue.

Somewhere in the loft are some almost identical shots taken at the grandly named London Service Centre in Wellesley Rd, Chiswick. At 15 or 16 most holidays included a 2 hour bus ride to see what Maranello were working on.

Interestinly, in many trips I did not see one red car - most were subtle metallics.

Was the 1965 Motor Show car s/n 07791? Frustratingly, while many photos exist in UK magazines of the shows in the 1960s, the vast majority are of the British-built vehicles with a minority of good quality images of the 'exotic imports'.

I spotted this when it was posted by the current owner of s/n 7323 - it's one of a set that was snapped at 87a in the late 1960s, I'd guess 1967 at the earliest given the 330 GTC in the background.

The second owner of GBL330C was the late John Perkins, a Cannes award-winning film director who passed away in 2002. He is referred to in a Bonhams description of this car as 'the BBC producer, John Perkins' (they confuse him with a different 'John Perkins', unfortunately).

Perkins owned this car for more than 30 years and used it a lot; my assumption is that he had the servicing and maintenance carried out at Modena Engineering during his ownership (because that's where he took his 365BB, s/n 17701) - but I'm sure its current custodian can verify that.

When I was researching s/n 17701 a few years back, I managed to track down Perkins' former PA, who remembered plenty about these cars. We traced his red Boxer to an Autocar cover triple-test with a V8 Vantage and Countach from December 1987. I managed to buy two or three good copies of it from around the web and sent her one as a thank you.

As with Francis N and Robert W, Brocket Hall in 1990 was also my first FOC event. I had never seen so many Ferraris in one place and could easily have spent all day there taking hundreds of pictures. Unfortunately, that was the same weekend as the first Christies Historic Festival and so I had planned to go home via Silverstone. I am pleased that I did as there were some great cars there too. We must have been getting in each others way taking all these photos of the same cars! Here are some of mine from Brocket Hall. I will post the Silverstone ones later. I did not realise the importance of chassis numbers back then and have spent much time since trying to identify individual cars. The ones I know are listed here. If anyone can help fill in the gaps that would be very appreciated.

    Robert,
Nice photos! I was at the Brocket Hall concours in 1988 and 1989 but for reasons for long forgotten I missed it in 1990.
    400i 195 DWL is #31007
365 GT4 2+2 HRV 438N is #17627 (in the background, photo to left of 400i)
I should be able to help you identify 365 GT4 2+2/400/412s if you have any further photos.
