I have been looking for a Plug In, Emergency Work light for a 308 Ferrari. I realize that they are as rare as hens teeth, but I was hoping there might be a source for some of these to help finish off our tool kits. The prices for some offered on eBay vary $399 to $500. I realize that these are "original", but there has got to be something out there that is either similar, or that we can source a limited number at a reasonable price. If we on the forum thought that the Amiet Key for our Seat Pouch was worth the effort, maybe a Emergency Work light Kit is worth considering. Any responses guy's?

There's a hell of a lot in there to get "right" and that's before you get to the pouch. There are also two plugs needed - Hella DIN for the carbs with Brico Pram & std 12V cig for the newer cars. I haven't seen anything similar - I guess you mean similar size & form.

FYI the pouch key issue was never reproduced, only sourced from the supplier with a "similar" looking key. :) It still goes on today…

It seems like the going asking rate is just about $299 on these lights on e-bay.
If you are so close to having "everything" with your car perhaps a Best Offer
    can save some $.

That price range seems odd to me. Usually they are for sale on FChat under $300, for all 3 variants.

Under dash newer type for cars 84 or later:

    Steven,
I see the links and my question is; a lot of the vendors / sellers seem to feel that because it has a "Horsey" on it, the going price is whatever they choose to ask. Sure I would like a work light to add to all the other stuff that goes with the car, but.... Do you know someone out in your part of the world that would make and supply a work-light with a similar appearance for a reasonable price? I am sure there will be a number of owners who will be interested. In this day and age it would not to difficult to make them on a printer. Just a thought. Comments?

I think the problem would be the cost of small run productions. If you need to custom make something with similar appearance, it will be costly no matter where and how unless you can do it yourself or have someone not charging you labour cost.

I'll walk out with the £85 one if I just need something similar or not perfect.

Edit: Just realize the £85 one is sold now...

I paid $225 (shipping included) for mine around the same time as this original post. I think it was a fair price for such a hard to come by price.

If you are not in need of the exact piece why not just buy a $5 flashlight?

No, a flashlight. You say it doesn't have to be the exact part but you want a light. A flashlight will do. It is far less costly, works better and you are not tied to an inconvenient spot on the car by a power cord. Its a win/win.

If you mean to say you want a light just like the correct Ferrari light but are too cheap to pay the going price for the genuine article say so. People in hell want ice water but they aren't getting that either.

If you want what is now a vintage car with cheap collectable peripherals you have chosen the wrong brand.

If your car has the old style outlet, it takes the early one. If not, it takes the late one.

I do have quite a few, from "as new" to "needs work" in both plug styles. Shoot me a PM, I have always been reasonable and everyone is happy.

Also, I have the "old style" outlets in my Mondial glove box and near the battery in front, and I have heard that non-cabrios have one in the engine compartment too. Gotta look around.
