I saw this note on your grill section jford.....it's headed off to powder today. Spacers have been being run thru their machining processes for the last few days...I hope to have some in hand next week. Desmomini....I almost have your hardware 'kit' put together and the end caps are ready.....they will probably go out next week. Boxcarracer....waiting on spacers so we can fit your end caps.....so not too much longer. You will have plenty of time to install before things thaw out up there... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Finally......spacers! Going to powdercoat on Monday when we're back up and running....we've got one set of spacers in 'inventory'....so no waiting for a kit. These started out as a 44 pound hunk of aluminum....about 40 pounds is in the recycling bin. Very complex piece to machine due to the angle. They sure look cool. We were able to fit a spacer today to check things....they are perfect. So off to powdercoat they go.... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Boxcarracers kit is ready to ship.....partial kit on this one since he has an OEM Speciale kit already.... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Jford's kit is next...this one needed a full stripping of the OEM grille before we could install the new center section. Had a difficult time stripping down the OEM powdercoat or whatever Maranello used. 2 layers thick. I almost think it was powder coated over the OEM finish. Strange. Just got in from a long job on the road, and visited my 348 in the shop. I can't say enough about the work from C2D on the end caps - finally my dream of a proper SS look is realized! Be on the lookout for an individual thread from Automotive International on the work they've done on this car: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Oh man....that's great Jeff! Glad to see they made it and they fit and all is well. The car looks great! I'm glad this project worked out...
After a year and a half and who knows how much $$ and time....we finally have a full SS tail light conversion kit. Pretty cool to actually see it all laid out. This one is for Jford0014 and will be on the way very shortly to him... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ha....I've had it laid out on one of my benches ALL day. It's really cool to look at now that everything is there. I'm used to seeing bits and pieces...not the whole thing. It will ship out tomorrow. Need to spend some time getting everything just right. Will ship the grill back in the box you sent...that worked out really well. I'm going to insure it all very heavily too.....
Package arrive ! Very exciting ! Now I need to find some time to actually play with this.... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Set the new studs in yesterday, hoping to get everything on this weekend. Image Unavailable, Please Login
A quick question.... what method are you using for assembly/reassembly of the slatted components? I ask because I am interested in the kit, however, I also have a loosened slat or two in the original piece that needs repairing.
It all depends on where the slat is broken. Send me the details...I have quite a few spare parts from my grilles. They're a bit tricky to take apart. Easiest to send it down to us and let us fix it...re-powdercoat, etc. We know these grilles really well. Best way to fix it is to buy one of my kits and change that car to the SS style...really looks cool!
