Miurasv has reached out to me on e-mail twice and asked me to retract my statement that he flammed me. I don't have the time or patience to go back through all those posts to show you where he actually flammed me, and I think it is a silly prospect.

Suffice it to say that I put him on Ingnore because of his comments on this thread, and I find it incredibly petty for him to have his feelings hurt because of something posted here, when his posts have been some of the most caustic I have seen (I can see ignored posters when they are quoted in other posts).

In addition, since I have him on Ignore, it is impossible for me to see the actual comments he made.

So, let the record show that he contacted me in a private e-mail and asked me to retract my comments.

I acknowledge his e-mail, and inform the board here that he disputes it, but I am not going to (1) remove him from ignore and (2) go back through nearly 10,000 posts to pull out his comments.

Man, this has really gotten out of hand, and the haters here are pretty sensitive.

I'm not the one threatening to sue. I find it amusing that Jim's "friends" are the ones beating the war drums. Besides, I find my opinions to be very valuable, thank you very much.

This is old news, and has already been discussed as meaningless in this thread.

Okay no new news ... back to sleep.

I am not suggesting that anyone is threatening to sue. What I am pointing out is that the Napolis haters have gotten so inflammatory in their comments that many of such comments no longer have the appearance of opinion but are outright accusations of criminal actions.

This is over the line, in my opinion. (And, I am not referring to your comments.)

If Jim is so sure his car is the original 0846 then its a simple process to confirm that once and for all:-

Have Ferrari certify it as such, or
Have the FIA certify it as such, or
Have the Le Mans organisers certify it as such or
Have Marcel Massini certify it as such or
Have US/UK/Italian Ferrari owners clubs have it certified as such.

All simple and straightforward, most pessimists would accept just two of the above signing it off.

Its what most were expecting/hoping was to be put forward recently.

So far though we are still stuck with ifs, buts, and maybes, and an obscure body who specialise in Fiat 500s combined with an update on a marketing site using customer supplied information only.

Im all for sticking to the facts and discussing the car... but i just can't let this go..

What is "disgusting" is YOUR reply!

I can't believe how freaking smug you are.

"My experience with Napolis--and I will bet you my spare Range Rover against your Hundai that I have much, much more experience in communicating with Napolis than you--is that your insults are wrong.

You have got to be freaking kidding me.

My range rover to your Hyundai (which you spelled incorrectly)... give me a break. So because you have a nicer car you are an authority? On what? Ohh lets examine the rest of your statement...

"I have much, much more experience in communicating with Napolis than you"

Really? REALLY? More experience in communicating with Napolis somehow makes you an expert on this car stamps chassis etc...

WOW... What else? Please inform those of us the ways of the world who don't have a spare Range Rover... PLEASE! We are all dying to be enlightened by your arrogance... I mean... expertise in "communicating with Napolis"

Accusing him of financial fraud? Really? Do you think Napolis borrows? I guess the only thing he would be responsible for would be how he pays personal property tax (if applicable) on the car... which would be interesting to see how it is valued.

He didn't accuse him of a crime you ninny. He didn't say Jim is doing this this and this and therefore is a criminal...

    RELAX.

Debate the car and the chassis. Leave the rest of this horse **** and how many stupid land rovers you have out of it.

Yes he added the stamp. It was not on the chassis prior to his ownership. He added the stamp.

Im not sure what the procedure is in NY, but states do allow this such as CA. You have to have a member of the highway patrol supervise it being added etc... and then it is somehow blessed by the state because of that.

In arizona it is extremely easy. In fact... really... too easy.

For example I could build a replica here in az... take it to dmv with a stamp I made that said ferrari 846 and get a title stating ferrari VIN 846 (I could get 0846 if Jim already hadn't put that number into use but since it is in use in the US I can't get it)

A title with the chassis number to the lamen seems like a silver bullet... but... those who know or are experienced can tell you that it is far from it. It would be very very very easy to obtain title to ferrari 0846 in several states (prior to jim using it) all for a car essentially built yesterday

The weird thing to me is he has added the chassis tag wrongly. It should have very visible welds at each end, but it hasn't ... why? He has #0854 so knows how the tags were attached.

I can only assume it is not permanently affixed.

exactly... however... I would leave out the US/UK?Italian Ferrari owners clubs to certify it... Cant quite guarantee a credible crowd of knowledgeable people there.

I was really hoping that the "coming soon" was more than this certification. I was hoping for some smoking gun/silver bullet.

Touting this organization as the nail in the coffin for the debate seems foolish when trying to build a credible case...

I really wish someone would refute muiraSVs photos and support it with photographic evidence etc...

Did Napolis ever get a metalurgy test?

So, you point out that I misspelled Hundai? And you spelled it correctly? OK, I admit that you own a Hundai and you know how to spell it. Feel better now?

As for my "stupid" range rovers (yes, I know they are technically land rovers, but the letters on the front of my cars read "Range Rover" so I call it that) I am not sure that one would call a car "stupid" but I guess the Napolis haters are willing to call a car 'stupid.'

God this is all a little like debating politics in the Trump area with established positions and those that hold them willing to destroy anyone that dares to even suggest that they may be wrong. I would like to think that we can keep any discussion civilized, its only a car after all.

I agree with you on the need for one of those bodies but I think you may have misplaced your faith on the ability of any organisation to answer what this car is or isn't. Psychologically many will do what you have just done with the ASI and simply turn against the organisation that has approved the car based on any evidence or measure. This refers to the fact that debate can soon descend into defending opposition when you feel your position is under attack as noted above. I think even if Jesus descends and says behold #0846, many would simply attack him and ask for evidence........

There has never been any substantiation as to why Jim rather than approach any of the ones I listed chose the ASI over all of them?

They are no doubt very good at what they do with the cars they cover, I have never heard though of them being utilised to verify even a low rent Ferrari, never mind an iconic one like a P car.

LOL... all you got out of that was that you thought I was insulting your Range Rover to a Land Rover. To me they are one and the same... No insult meant I like both. I don't have a spare Range Rover I am one of those dirt bags that only own 1 of them.

You really are proud of that whole Range Rover thing arent you? LOL. They are great vehicles... but this is a discussion about 0846.

As far as hating Napolis... I don't hate him... I have no reason to hate him. He hasn't kicked my dog or spat in my face or anything.

There are a lot of people on here getting totally out of order with their insults.

I don't wish to read personal diatribes and just wish the mods would step in and sort it.

You are not alone because it detracts rather than adds to discussion of the car.

This thread is a waste or the internet. I now wish somebody would find the real #0846 chassis in a scrap yard just so we could finally kill this thread.

Unlikely as it's probably divided into millions of molecules recycled into Giulia Supers and Fiat 500L's!

Miura has quantified beyond reasonable doubt that the chassis is not 0854

The fact that Jim has managed to register his now beyond reasonable doubt replica with the US authorities is that. A fact that is proven.

The bottom line is the replica of 0854 that has taken the identity of the REAL (and beyond reasonable doubt destroyed chassis wise) 0854 is registered for road use in the US.

So that is it. Jim had a good punt. He tried his best to create a new reality.

It was a dream that nearly came true.

Unfortunately it is a nightmare. His nightmare.

Why? Because Jim is in a world of pain. He is reading these spats. Reading the attacks on his integrity. Reading the bile and spite.

I'll bet a pound that if he could go back in time and never start this thing he would.

It is a monster now and he is up to his teeth in it. He can't come on here and take on so many "individuals" now that Miura has set his stall out. He will be obliterated.

If the new 0854 gets flown to whatever high end event in Europe any clued up Ferrari dude will know it's a rep (or fake if one wants to be mean)

    There are no winners here.

It's a bit like war. A stinking mess of broken dreams and half false truths.

There are shades of Goebbels here. I for one think it was innocent.

It only took 489 pages but you've managed to invoke Godwin's Law.

Maybe you should ban yourself for a spell.

Reading your post I can only conclude you are giving this far more important than even the owner. It's an f'ing car for crying out loud. Save the nazi references for something that actually matters if you must use them at all. I'd say you put more emotion into your post that JG has into the car (only exaggerating a bit).

Btw - which car are you on about anyways?

    This!!! It's hilarious.

And then the one guy is all:
"it could keep you out of trouble"
"let the record show he contacted me in private email"
"I acknowledge his email and put the board on notice that he disputes it"
and best of all "it says range rover on the front of my land rover so I call it that."

Trying for some sort of super internet friend of the year award? Maybe a role in the next Glickenhaus action flick? We definitely need to get this guy a certified i-lawyer trophy or something.
