Beautiful car. Why two timing belts in less than two years on such low mileage? GLWS

    Thank you!

We had the car inspected before we got the service records and because they saw a leak and no service history (at that time) they suggested a major service.

Plus on a super low mile nice car like this it is easier to sell it with a fresh major than not....

Awesome and thank you! I got to drive this car home and I absolutely loved it! I would not mind taking a couple hour road trip in it either!

Can someone tell me how the F1 in the 612 compares to my 430? Same box or is it better/worse?

good question, similar generation, they came out about same time. maybe 430 is little quicker because meant to be sportier? I don't know.

I would say it suits the car well. I don't have a 430 for direct comparison, but it is not as fast in shifting as my Scud (nor is the 430), but then that wouldn't really suit the car... Anyway, it is similar generation F1 as the 430, so probably comparable.

Min shift time in the F430 is 150 ms, on early 612s 180 ms, on HGTS/HGTC models ~160 ms. Algorithms for normal shifting are very similar. The 612 gearbox is much more robust than the F430 gearbox because of the 434 lb-ft of torque. Drivers would not notice much difference and 800-900 psi of hydraulic pressure does not care about the more robust 612 gearbox parts. If she is Motronic 7.3.2, shifting is further accelerated.

How is the F1 in the 612 vs the 599 gtb?

I drove this 612 home after we had the service done (and I loved it by the way) and I thought it shifted very well. I have thousands of miles on Ferraris over the years and I would day the 612, 430 and 599 all shift very similar. If I was blind folded and had to drive all 3 cars (off the top of my head) I do not think I could guess what car I was in based of the shifting.

Now driving a 360 I could definitely say there would be a noticeable difference in the gearbox and the way the car shifts.

Driving the 612 home I liked the car so much that I thought I could drive the car to Vegas (3 hours give or take) and have an amazing trip the whole time. I have drove a 430 home from Vegas and it was great but it was not like driving a GT car....

Thank you very much for the info!

See above but I would say very similar.....
