MotoArt had a TV show on Discovery called "Wing Nuts" a number of years ago.

Showed how they sourced parts, manufactured them, etc.

I think a lot of their stuff is really great (assuming this all was manufactured by MotoArt), but they quoted me $23k for a simply home office desk (pretty small). That's insane.

Wow! I'm sure with $23k, you could buy a big piece of a scrapped 747 and make a lot of those desks yourself lol.

Gotta pay something for craftsmanship tho, right? They don't design & assemble themselves....

When I design & fabricate one, I get <$20K> for my live-edge 16' redwood / oak / walnut dining tables. True one-off costs money, whether cars or furniture.

Boeing Field in Seattle once had a restaurant called The Blue Max. The seats in their waiting room were former airline seats, and one row of seats in their dining room were former (deactivated) jet fighter ejection seats.
