Happy Thanksgiving to all our CCR Family & Friends:

We've been working diligently in the off season to build on the progress and stability we enjoyed during 2016. Next season will take our racers to new A-Level racing venues that CCR has not attended before and also allow Ferrari racing enthusiasts new choices in keeping their skills in tune.

We specifically opted to hit the track early in the year to help our racers be battle tested and ready early in the season:

    Homestead January 20-21
    Sebring March 11-12
    VIR April 21-23
    Mid-Ohio June 12-13
    Mosport July 28-30
    Watkins Glen Aug 18-20

Early next week we will open our registration links at Challenge Car Racing and we look forward to seeing everyone at Homestead in January! Stay tuned!

New Orleans, LA –Challenge Car Racing LLC announced today the hiring of Joe
Foster, most recently the co-driver and business partner of Patrick Dempsey at
Dempsey Racing, to take over as President of CCR as it enters its 8th season of
    competition in 2016.
Foster’s over 30 year career in motorsports began in karting and British Formula 3
and eventually led him to race wins, championships as a sportscar driver but also
has an extensive background in coaching gentleman drivers and managing racing
series and schools for the Panoz Motorsports Group. Ultimately Joe managed
Dempsey Racing as it grew up the racing ladder to Le Mans.
With the production of over 60 Ferrari Challenge car races since 2009, the
organization founded by John Houghtaling exists as the largest group of
independent Ferrari Challenge privateers in the US. "The organization is the only
stand alone Ferrari specific championship reserved for historic-spec Ferrari
Challenge cars,” Houghtaling explained. The series operates as a private racing club
for Ferrari collectors. The rules are designed for the preservation of historic Ferrari
Challenge cars as a priority over outright competition. CCR is geared towards the
Ferrari collector and gentlemen driver who values the camaraderie that often
surrounds the legendary marque. Ferrari racing teams and drivers must be
approved and licensed before entry and subscribe to a code of conduct
which stresses a "no contact" goal.

Houghtaling adds, “our membership consists of some of the top professional
businessmen in the nation, and they have high standards. The success of the
concept has outgrown an initial member-run model. After experimenting with
different management models over the years, we took the step to invest in a top
motorsport executive that understood the brand and goals of the organization. We
interviewed a lot of talented executives that applied nationally, but Joe Foster had
both the support of the membership and the right skill set to help us capitalize on
the momentum we have and move forward to implement new programs.”
Foster has renewed sponsorship programs with Pirelli, OMP, AIG, and series title
sponsor FORZA Magazine for the 2016 FORZA Tifosi Challenge. "Working closely
with Michael Chiaramonte, CCR director of track scheduling, I am able to confirm
that CCR has secured the best tracks in North America for 2016. Our calendar
includes Sebring, VIR, Road Atlanta, Road America, Watkins Glen and
COTA." Director Chiaramonte commented, "I am thrilled Joe is on board. He
understood the driver's goal of a calendar without compromise. Joe helped finalize
our negotiations with several of the premier providers of track events to insure tons
of track time and CCR only run groups. Every track next year is legendary.”
Foster has begun work immediately and comments "We have several developments
coming for 2016, including an improved driver and team web portal, a new
technical and regulatory staff, and new trackside hospitality option. I am pleased to
know a number of the drivers personally and am really looking forward to meeting
the other members. I am confident we will provide an unmatched experience for
CCR's eighth chapter, the 2016 FORZA Tifosi Challenge.
