Sorry but seeing as I no longer have a house, much less a garage, I can't take a trade. Hell thats why it's sitting at Marks place right now! We bought a Motorhome and have hit the road full time. I thought about towing the corvette but decided that wasn't the best idea! I really want this car to go to a good home. It's a great car and if I had a garage I would be keeping it. Really love driving it.
Understood! Honestly, given the logistics (the wife, the cash), I'm not ultra serious. That being said, a good deal always needs to be given thought, I'm half considering a loan and doing it.
I keep coming back to this thread and surprised every time it's still available. These cars are super cool. Was it Lotus that helped develop the valvetrain etc? They sound very unique too.
Lotus was owned by GM at the time. GM wanted them to design a set of heads for the small block but it could not happen using current dimensions. So Lotus was awarded a contract to design the whole new engine with the goal of hitting 400hp. Of course this is the condensed version. The true history is an entire book.
Yep still available. I've had several interested parties but nobody has pulled the trigger just yet, although I think it might have found a buyer today. Really mixed feelings about letting it go, even more than the 308 believe it or not. I really enjoy driving it, just an awesome piece of history you can drive anywhere and everywhere.
These C4 ZR-1's are really great cars and VERY under-rated and mostly unrecognized by the general public. I had a 91 ZR-1 that was quasar blue / tan, had Jeff Jeal chip & headers, B&B exhaust, K&N air filter, 4.09 viper gears...it was mighty quick. My ZR-1 was 1 of only a few cars in this particular color combination and was just gorgeous. I love Ferraris and Lambos but I still miss my ZR-1 to this day.
Just picked up the ZR-1 from detail. Guys, this beauty is in MY garage and I'm starting to like it--a lot, especially the torque! This is a no brainer. Somebody jump on this before I pull the trigger myself and flip it next year for $25k. I'll be glad to go over the car via FaceTime so you can see for yourself. Send me a PM if you want a detailed walk around. I'm driving it to our next Cars/Coffee here in Memphis where I know it will generate serious interest. It's a really nice, well sorted ZR-1. Had to bump this for Mark.. what a great car. I swear if I was in the US, it would be in my garage. Mike
It has found a new home and is currently on the way back to Texas! Picked her up this afternoon right before Lunch at Central BBQ! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thank God and congrats! Really nice car. Now I don't have to keep coming back to this thread again and again pondering the same questions such as: "now where would I put it given an already full garage?" "as the car is unloaded from the car carrier, would the wife just shrug her shoulders or roll her eyes while simultaneously shaking her head?"
Awww man, Mark didn't tell me you guys went to Central. Now I want BBQ. I'm glad it's going to a good home, really am going to miss that car. It's right there with my 308 as one of my favorite cars I've ever owned. Drive it often!
Will do! I absolutely love how comfortably it cruises down the road. Almost made it home without a speeding ticket... almost. Thanks!
I'm the original owner of a '91 ZR-1 identical to the Quasar Blue/Saddle one you used to have. Great color combo, and rare, as you said. Just 112 Quasars were built 1990-1993, out of a total ZR-1 production of 6,939 from 1990 to 1995. Interior colors for Quasar exteriors were black, gray, or saddle. My understanding is that there are about 30 with saddle. Unlike your Z, mine is original with no mods. With the chip, headers, and 4.09 gears, yours must have been a real rocket. If you want to reprise your Z, I am thinking about selling! 25 years with the car for me seems like a long enough run. Great news! Hopefully mine will sell here in the spring. Need the space in order to go get my first Ferrari. Otherwise something would have to sit outside and that ain't going to happen with any of mine.
