    Hi All
The T is in the workshop, I found a technician who has SDI program. So it goes, connect it up to the valeo ECU no communication, installed new valeo ecu we have communication and indicating the potentiometer faulty as well the clutch light is on the dash , replace potentiometer started on neutral and clutch light off (good). when gear selected there is no reaction no take off.
The technician is concerned about adjusting the rod from the gear stick to clutch actuator, this what he had to say.
When the clutch actuator is in safe mode, the clutch in engaged and there in no play. but when the actuator is out of safe mode , how much free play should there be on the arm.
How many turns clock or anticlock required to adjust so not to damage the actuator.
like to thank everyone in advance.
    Cheers
    Michael

Hope you get the right person to fix it now. If no one knows let him (or you) call the F Dealer. They should know this or at least find out from their Classic department.

I don't think the actuator is adjustable, or at least should not be adjusted. Try the 30amp fuse in the trunk attached to the Valeo ECU.

That is very good news. To have to convert to a manual trans would have been terrible.
How were you able to find a new ECU? Continued good luck.

    Hi all
Tijn , I originally took the car to F/dealership on the basis they had SD1 ecu but NO, they hardly any information on it, it was there for over 4 month they did 0. promises and promises..

Alexion, is you car valeo as well, are sure it not adjustable at the rod, when engaging gear there no up n go just revs. its driving me mad.

Rookie, as for the ECU, I found it locally as new, I'm glad didn't go ahead with the manual conversion I had to listen to Hank...

I have a spare hydraulic Actuator I may replace I don't want to but it looks like last attempt.

Personally I would make a complaint at Ferrari headquarters. In the end if a F specialist needs help/information his only option is to turn to Ferrari.

I raised a complained or 2 and they were very fast in straiten it out. We are potential buyers for a new F and Ferrari knows that the older segment cars is the first step to a longlive Ferrari ownership.

Michael. Are you talking about the actuator on top of the trans? Where did you get it? Mine is sticky and doesn't always find neutral when starting. (Need to turn key back and forth).
Also, per most other feed back most of the issues are electrical and the components seem to be rock solid.

Let us know how to you make out.

Yes, The actuator on top of the gear box it selects all gears but no go just revs, Initially the clutch light was on, so we replace the valeo ecu and then the potentiometer so clutch light off, but still have the issue with gears no go, its drive me MAD, so the technician wants to replace the actuator as he cant find and other issue relay, power, all good.
If anyone has any recommendation I'm all EARS..

Michael - I spoke with my mechanic Tony who i think is advising your mechanic. He seems to think since you replaced the Valeo ECU that you need to go though the "Valeo Leaning" sequence again. There are directions in the manual for that procedure. Have you done that?

    Let me know.

Hey guys. It's nice to see the forum working.

These cars are so rare, that there was going to be a learning curve. With some F dealers not even on it. It's the enthusiasts that will work it out.

Good luck to you. Hope you get her out on the open roads again soon.

I like the Valeo and was always wondering what the long term viability might be. As stated, I believe unless Ferrari Spa is involved, this may only be an enthusiast fix.

Hopefully, it is more rock solid after the 'learning sequence' is attempted.

    Hi Jim
Yes, big thanks to tony has been helping out, Sal (technician) has put it through the learning sequence, where he engages every gear and move it around but the seems it did not help.
He swap the old actuator and installed new actuator, and still the same there no movement in the actuator or not making any sound.
    Thanks Again

Is your tech sure that the ECU is OK? Was the ECU a new one or used one? That's usually the problem and not the actuator.
Hopefully you find the problem without spending on unneeded parts. Good luck.

    Hi Rookie
Its a new Valeo ecu and new potentiometer, yes I agree id rather keep my new actuator for future if need be, he did swap the old actuator with the new but still same issue so he refitted the old on.
    Regards
    Michael

Still no luck, Michael? I have a feeling this issue is something simple and electrical that is being overlooked. You have replaced all mechanical components that don't usually break and the ECU...I feel like its a sensor, relay, fuse, or lose wiring somewhere in the system.

    Hi Alex,
I think you're 100% correct , its most probably a simple problem, need to go over it again double check. see how we go, it seems so close but it's taking a while.

Do you have the technical documentation of the Valeo system? My Ferrari Mondial T is down for 2 years and the ferrari dealership is unable to find fault

    Good evening !
I live in south of France, and I just bought a Mondial T of 1994, with a Valeo System. I called Ferrari France, but they don't have any manual of this system.
@alexion: is it possible to send me the technical documentation ? I don't find how to send you a private message. Many thanks !

    Hi Dapower -

    What’s your email address?

In order to connect to the Valeo system, you must have an SD1 computer.
